🚨A message to the pro-Israel camp:
I’ve known this community for a very long time. The overwhelming majority are amazing, kind-hearted, intelligent, and loving people in America, Canada, Europe, and Israel.
Most are proud of their non-Jewish allies, including their Muslim allies and, of course, their Christian allies.
I don’t think many Muslims have stood up against radical Islamists as consistently as I have, or faced as much backlash from them. But by the grace of God, I have the strength to confront their ideology because I know its sources and once had to expunge its influence from my own thinking.
And I fight this battle as a Muslim, not as an ex-Muslim; as a proud Arab and a proud Muslim.
Because I have always said: if moderate Muslims don’t stand up to the radicals, their silence leaves the radicals unchallenged (Agreement in silence).
However, there is a small but dangerous minority within the pro-Israel camp that tolerates hatred against all Muslims, not just radical Islamists, Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood, or other extremist movements, but Muslims as a whole.
And they need to understand the damage they are causing.
What is the end game? To isolate Israel and the Jewish people even further?
I want Muslims to love and accept Israel as the homeland of the Jewish people, living side by side in peace with its Muslim and Arab neighbors including Palestinians, who deserve to live in dignity, security, and prosperity.
I want Muslims to stand against the enemies of peace: Hamas, the IRGC, Hezbollah, the Muslim Brotherhood, and every movement that uses religion to justify extremism and violence.
I want confused and misinformed Muslims to learn about the Jewish people, Jewish history, and the extraordinary common ground between Muslims and Jews.
I want us to thrive together and build a future that would make our forefather Abraham and his sons Ishmael and Isaac proud.
I want a Middle East where Israel is no longer hated and isolated, but accepted by all its Muslim neighbors.
And this small, dangerous minority within the pro-Israel camp risks blowing that vision to smithereens.
They are undermining one of the greatest breakthroughs in modern American diplomacy: the Abraham Accords.
They are shooting themselves in the foot.
So again, I ask: What is your end game?
When I visited Israel for the first time, I met senior government officials who spoke proudly about their Muslim friends and Israel’s Muslim community. They understood something fundamental: a war against the terrorists of Hamas must never become a war against Muslims.
That distinction is precisely what this dangerous minority in the American pro-Israel camp fails to understand.
Don’t destroy what President Donald J. Trump and his team worked to build.
Don’t destroy the hope the Abraham Accords have created in our region.
And don’t become the mirror image of the radical extremists you claim to oppose.
Because when hatred is directed at Muslims simply for being Muslims, we will call it out and stand against it just as firmly as we stand against Islamist extremism…without apology.
Doesn’t get much better for #d3hoops fans than hanging with Player of the Year and @EmoryBasketball superstar (and huge mensch) Ben Pearce.
Where Ben plays next is still TBD but wherever he lands, he’ll have a whole lot of us rooting for him.
For four days, the most capable military in the Middle East could not clear a path for a family to reach its own front door. The family lives on the outskirts of Qusra, south of Nablus. On Sunday, settlers from the encampments seeded by the Tel Talpiot outpost sealed the entrance to their home and would not let them in or out.
The most damning verdict of the event comes from Israel’s most faithful friend, Mike Huckabee. The most pro-settlement ambassador in the history of the post, a man who will not so much as use the word “settler”—called the men at Qusra “Israeli terrorists.” He described what they did as a deliberate act of intimidation and harassment against the family, with “no excuse for such thuggish behavior.” One of the besieged homes belongs to an American citizen, and Washington is rightly furious.
The army moved to end it. But the plan leaked to the press, and by the time the troops arrived, dozens of activists were waiting, blocking the roads with boulders. That a handful of stones could stop a military that routinely penetrates through tens of meters of solid rock deserves an explanation.
Start with the obvious. These are not Hezbollah fighters or Iranian operatives. For all their open contempt for state authority, they are Israeli citizens, and overwhelming military force is not an option.
Then consider who actually showed up. The first forces on the scene were not Border Police or infantry trained for this, but Home Front Command reservists—a consequence of the manpower shortage the army has been running on for three years. They did not understand the scenario they had walked into. Some of them joined the prayer at the outpost, which has since been reported as solidarity. It was ignorance.
The state has also stripped the toolkit. Administrative detention against settlers was taken off the table in November 2024, and with it the only instrument that let the army remove known offenders quickly. That instrument was always controversial precisely because it required no evidentiary basis—but the alternative has proven worse. Most settler violence is incredibly difficult to prosecute: proving who broke a fence, stole sheep, or sprayed graffiti is genuinely hard, and Israel’s conviction rate for these offenses sits around the international average for such crimes.
Qusra should have been the easy case. The men outside those homes were sitting inside a closed military zone, and refusing to leave once ordered out by the authorities is a criminal offense in its own right. But without the men or the political backing to confront the reinforced settlers head-on, the IDF opted for the quieter option: dismantling the outpost overnight and arresting only one participant.
The lack of political support comes down to a fight over perception. When violent settlers attacked an army base, every figure on the right condemned it without qualification, Ben Gvir included. Even when the settlers weren’t turning their violence on the IDF—after the April escalation—Bezalel Smotrich too said such violence had to be uprooted at its source. But those condemnations followed burning cars and shattered windows. Qusra has produced no such images: harassment, siege, and obstruction, certainly, but little footage of outright violence. It isn’t that right-wing leaders support what is happening there; it is that, two months from an election, they are not confident their voters will draw the distinction.
There is also the risk of theater. Just last week, Defense Minister Israel Katz announced on live television that he was removing Central Command chief Avi Bluth—punishment for the general’s insistence on pursuing a violent settler. The stunt blew up in Katz’s face. But no IDF officer or right-wing politician wants to find himself on the wrong side of a primary campaign.
Settler violence is a sensitive issue in Israel. Only a vanishingly small share of the settler population supports or takes part in such acts, but because the problem is exaggerated and used to obscure Palestinian violence against them, they bristle at hearing about it—even from Israel’s greatest friends.
But this is a serious moral and strategic problem, and it has to be confronted.
Israel feels like Teddy Roosevelt’s man in the arena—face marred by dust and sweat and blood, fighting on every front while the critics constantly point out how it stumbles. We can safely take Roosevelt’s advice, that they are not the ones who matter. But we have to be sure it is the critic we are dismissing, and not the man fighting beside us. Huckabee is just as caked in blood and sweat as we are. We ignore him at our own peril.
This is what Jeremiah wrote about Jerusalem 2,600 years ago, words that Jews read on this day each year:
“How does the city once full of people sit alone?
She has become like a widow.
She who was great among the nations,
A princess among the cities,
Has become a vassal.”
But the dissonance is almost too much to bear: the city is again filled with her people; she is a widow no more. She is once again great among the nations. What a time to be alive.
@SpinDavies also think this is great content. algorithm be damned. rly good Q, and u can tell the players were interested in giving real answers as well bc the Q was good.
BREAKING: State AGs have won their suit challenging the $100,000 H-1B tax.
The court granted summary judgment in favor of the plaintiffs. "The Policy implementing the Proclamation is declared unlawful and is VACATED in its entirety."
“The Supreme Court’s reasoning in this pair of precedents supports a finding that the $100,000 payment requirement amounts to a tax, not a penalty.”
Presumably, an appeal is coming and we still await decisions in the Global Nurse Force case (I'm co-counsel) and in the Chamber's case in the DC Circuit.

From @Olivia_Reingold in @TheFP on the First Lady of our City:
The first playlist, titled “hungry but sexy for palestine,” features songs like “Amrikkka,” “Intifada,” and one called “Ana Bakrah Israel,” which translates into “I Hate Israel.” Another number titled “Rajaoui Filistini,” a 2019 song popularized by Moroccan soccer fans that has boomed in popularity the last few years, asks for God’s protection “from the darkness of betrayal/oppression, and from the Jews who are greedy for you.” The second playlist, called “p2p Palestine 2 Pree—DC protest trip,” appears to have been created as a soundtrack for the January 13, 2024, March on Washington for Gaza. One song, added on the day of the protest, is titled “FREE PALESTINE.” It is a short song that manages to pack multiple blood libels and death wishes to Israel in less than three minutes. The most repeated line is “Fuck Israel, Israel a bitch.” Other lyrics include:
Free Palestine bitch, Israel gon’ die bitch
Nigga, it’s they land, why you out here tryna rob it
Bullshit prophets, y’all just want the profit.
And: No shalom bitch, nigga, this Haram bitch.
The Spotify account also has a playlist titled “ACAB” created during the summer of 2020—a shorthand for “All Cops Are Bastards.” The cover image is a woman dressed in traditional Indian formal wear and wielding a glittering knife.

Netanyahu’s main challenger, former PM @naftalibennett, promises to “dismantle Jewish terrorism” in Judea and Samaria.
He frames it as part of a broader countrywide breakdown of law and order under Netanyahu’s government.

Every person opposing the Lebanese government directly negotiating a peace deal with Israel prefers Lebanon becoming worse than North Korea. The country has been drowning in shit since 2019 and the main issue, by far, has been Hezbollah. From sanctions catalyzing the economic crisis in 2019, to the 2020 Port explosion, to the crushing and humiliating defeat in 2024, and to now dragging us into a war revealing that they've been lying about the disarmament.
Hezbollah was defeated in such a crushing manner in 2024, unable to fight back against Israel and losing fucking Hassan Nasrallah, that all the fucking country was confused about who launched the rockets at the beginning. Why would Lebanon need to be at war because Khamenei died? And before you bring up Israel "violating the ceasefire multiple times," Hezbollah has been fundamentally doing so by refusing to disarm as the ceasefire agreement included respecting UNSC 1701, which itself is being violated by Hezbollah since 2006.
And now, you want Iran to negotiate on our behalf? Then you forget that Israel has its own goals to achieve in Lebanon and they have the upper hand in the negotiations. Lebanon would lose the South to be a buffer zone forever as Hezbollah will still have to exist if Iran has a say. The displaced Shia would have to go to areas where they are not welcome due to sectarian tensions where this loss is seen as their fault in the first place. Which is where Lebanon's situation would worsen more and more until it's North Korea. Unless you're delusional to think that Iran is so benevolent when negotiating on our behalf that they would give us the best deal and leave Lebanon with Hezbollah disarmed EL.OH.EL.
You want a ceasefire before negotiations? Good job, you achieved nothing. Hezbollah will try to coup the government and Israel will start bombing them again. They already lied after 2024. They will lie again, because as long as they have arms and Iran is allowed into Lebanon, they will find a way to keep the rest of the country disenfranchised and try to rebuild.
You think people will oppose a peace deal in Lebanon? After 7 years of crisis and 2 decades of political disenfranchisement, if a peace deal avoids turning Lebanon into North Korea, then most people will let it happen and move on because they want to live normal lives, including "the Shia" who have no other way to go back home.
"Israel are genociders." So you want us to die fighting them when even Hezb is barely putting a dent now? No fuck you, we're not suicidal. Treat people here like human beings with aspirations other than a constant state of war against a universal evil or whatever.
"You're just cucked goycattle." Ok thanks for the insults, what are we supposed to do with them? Why should we care about your respect? At what bank do we cash it out?
"TL;DR" Good, doomscroll ahead.
Now stop bitching and projecting without taking all of these facts into consideration. K bye.
Through the collective strength and resiliency, I wish the global Jewish community a happy and restful Passover.
