Unpopular opinion, but we should enable Cabo Verde to join the European Union in the long run.

They are a Portuguese speaking, christian country with a pluralistic democracy.

Their most important partners are the U.S. and the EU - something which is rare in Africa.

Because of several navigation routes crossing the islands Cabo Verde is of the utmost strategic importance.

They are the perfect political bridge between Europe, Africa and South America.

Due to its small size and non existing borders, the risk of a membership is low.

We need it. And we should invite them before they’re pivoting towards China.
