#NEWS: United Airlines Could Acquire Early-Built 777-9s!
According to industry reports, United Airlines is being considered as a potential customer for some of Boeing's earliest-built 777-9 aircraft, with as many as 20 jets reportedly under discussion.
These aircraft were manufactured during the early stages of the 777X program and have remained undelivered as certification delays led to years of engineering updates. As a result, the earliest airframes require substantially more modification work than aircraft built more recently.
Several launch customers are believed to have prioritized later-production aircraft, creating an opportunity for another operator to acquire the earlier builds once the necessary upgrades are completed.
No agreement has been announced, and Boeing has not confirmed any transaction. The report highlights one possible path for placing these aircraft as the 777-9 program moves closer to certification and entry into service.
