Quite shocked and saddened to wake up to the news of Paul O'Grady passing. #RipPaulOgrady. A funny man, with incredibly quick wit, who made millions laugh.
My last (ever?) picture of Everest. After you turn the corner on the way back down, between Kangjuma and Namche, you lose sight of Everest (unless you are lucky to catch a glimpse slightly lower down.) This was my final Everest picture of the trek.
Britainβs poor face the worst winter in living memory.
A year ago we talked about people having to choose between heating and eating, now many canβt afford either. Basics like soap, toothpaste etc are becoming unaffordable luxuries.
And itβs only going to get worse.

The Tories will attack nurses as they do every other worker forced to defend their pay & conditions.
Nurses didn't create record NHS waiting lists.
Nurses didn't create the NHS staffing crisis.
Nurses didn't underfund our NHS.
My 100% solidarity with nurses forced to strike.
And here is the most inspiring post I have seen for many a long time. Fantastic and beautiful words, and a great way to start the day....Thankyou Sir πβ€
Everest from the Nepal side is surrounded by high mountains - here the ridge of Nuptse (nearly a 1000m lower) in front makes Everest look smaller than it is.
