I mean if they pigeonhole every single item so much and you don’t have much variety for different use cases, then when the boss it’s used at becomes less meta for money or obsolete or something to that effect, then it’ll generally decrease in value.
When it comes to raids though, if they made raids in a way that all combat styles were more viable then more items maintain or increase in value instead of saying “this specific weapon will be the next at this specific raid or room…” then when the next raid comes out and people stop running the raid, we all get surprised that the item fell off a cliff in value or use… (like justi, sang, ghrazi…)
I mean we are definitely in the era of hyper min/max efficiency scape but Jagex isn’t without blame for pushing the game in that direction…
That all being said, it’s without a doubt crystal clear that Jagex made or inadvertently made TBow the single best item in this raid without question. One just needs to read the blog post they made and watch footage from yesterday. Didn’t one of the groups go in with literally only TBows and made it to the final boss? I’m pretty sure there isn’t another item or mega-rare let alone, that you can do that with.
@SChrysanthus@OldSchoolRS I was reading an article the other day that was talking about much difficult reading was for people these days. I’m guessing they were referring to you. 🤣🤣
I mean if you grind to either get or have enough to buy a shadow then Jagex decides your time is useless so your item is now useless in the new raid, that kinda feels like a slap in the face. But hey it’s just a game I guess…
I get what you’re saying though. I don’t think it should be a requirement, and there shouldn’t be a specific requirement for any raid/final boss type of thing, there shouldn’t be options where:
For example if you use mage, then the boss will use X type of attack and then you need to prepare for X mechanics, or if you’re using range, the boss will do Y attacks and you need to prepare for Y mechanics.
That to me seems like it’d give more items more love and more options, vs the current way they create content and say “we’re going to make a raid where tbow is supreme…” then have to walk that back… it’s just bad design.
I love watching my bank value tank faster than I can farm GP… also where is this Shadow rework you’ve been teasing for something like a year now that has been “ready and completed” but you’re just waiting to launch?
The item clearly didn’t make the cool kids table for TFA with Tbow & Scythe but damn we waiting till the shit drops to 25gp before we do something?
I remember how quick yall were to hotfix and buff the Scythe simply because the fang was accurate and hit constantly, while simultaneously nerfing the Fang…
I guess it’s just Tbow-scape until the end of time…
I pray that dungeons of gielinor come with a GWD rework so I can play with my damn iron friends as well as a loot mechanic rework so loot is split rather than just to one person.
This has been the standard for all new group bosses and idk why it’s 25 years later and we still keep some of the same old slot in the game. I keep wanting to keep things “old school” but it’s doing no one a service if they can’t even play the game because they have a main and one friend has a GIM and the other has a Iron but we can’t do GWD together… BUT we can somehow do freakin raids together??? Like what is the logic of this? I’m so lost.
Even other new group bosses with strong ass loot you can do with irons so it’s just silly at this point.
Honestly I love it. I’ve played this game since the release of RS2 when I was a kid around 8/9 and It’s incredible to see how such a simplistic game can transform into an even more complex yet simple game with layers of small trivial things on top.
As someone who could fall into the category of folks your talking about, I think the issue is time. Many folks don’t have enough time to play the game, let alone soak up as much info and reps into learning all the content, let alone trying it because of limited time to play. Basically everything in this game can be completed by basically anyone with enough reps and time to understand the mechanics Imo.
I guess it’s fuck mage and fuck the shadow right? 😂😂 mage feels like a side quest just for freezes or some needed elemental spell on xarth or trios, or for thralls/death charge. Not for any actual combat.
Idk if that’s just what I’m seeing or if that’s what Jagex intended here.
@OldSchoolRS lol Jagex completely shitting on void as “free to obtain”, as if you just walk up to an NPC and he hands you free elite void, made me chuckle a bit. I guess it’s “free” if it’s not a 500-hour grind in the eyes of Jagex.
