@mollyjgoldberg PR could be using to advocate for a cause of bring awareness to a particular issue in our society. However, using PR in politics in my opinion is when it can be viewed as modern propagate. #uwj201 #314
@taylornsmith77 I believe his talent definitely plays a role. Giannis is a noticeable and recognizable player one because of his win in the NBA Championship and two because of his stature and history. Without that there would be little impact using Giannis as a marketing device. #uwj201 #314
After reading the economist article, it was interesting to see the progression of advertising go from print to tv to Twitter then Facebook. Do you think Tik Tok will be the next biggest player in the advertising market for the younger generations? #uwj201 #314
@BrianneCapper I think the best way to reduce these stigmas is to have conversations with your peers that have opposing political views. Earlier in the year we read about a study where people talked for only 15 min and had a greater understanding of their peers opposing opinions. #UWJ201 #314
@allisoncourt24 I feel that today's opinions on polarization is more extreme than it was in 2010. The perceived polarization that Prof. Rojas talked about is definitely more prominent in today's society. #UWJ201 #314
After reading the VOX article about centrism, the centrist ideology solagan "fiscally conservative but social liberal" stuck with me. I have noticed our generation and younger generations have moved towards this idea. Does anyone else notice this? #uwj201 #314
While reviewing my notes for the midterm I came across the Hypodermic Needle theory. What is this theory exactly and is it similar to Agenda Setting? #UWJ201 #314
@maddiegamble11 I agree with the statement and I do think it is related to the audience. When having small news sources they are less likely to be skewed towards one side because they want to be accepted by all members of that source's community. #UWJ201 #314
@GavinLuebke28 I do not think it is ruining news sources in the United States, but it is still not great. It restricts the variation of news we may receive. I think we do learn a lot from other countries' news sources about our own country, like when the BBC reports on the US. #UWJ201 #314
@DagraAman I believe in the right situation it could be a good thing but we also must hold platforms accountable as a public if they start to abuse this power. #UWJ201 #314
@bjerke_paige I believe it was a necessary decision since Trumps rhetoric creating a movement of insurection. That being said we must be cautious that social media companies do not abuse their powers. #UWJ201 #314
@hannahhloughh I do not think the media is doing this to a good extent especially and political news outlets. Sources like Fox news and CNN will never attack politicians affiliated with their respected parties so there's always a divide in information. #UWJ201 #314
@lucymartinn8 Unfortunately it is hard to hold these polarized news sources accountable because under freedom of the press they have a right to report how they want. As a community we could voice our anger should these outlets do things out of line. #UWJ201 #314
In today's guest lecture, Scott Dikkers had mentioned "Comfort the Afflicted and Afflict the Comfortable". This makes a lot of sense for comedic media but can it relate to other types of media? #uwj201 #314
@KachoriaLekha It would be hard to introduce this kind of study into everyday life because most individuals are set in their opinions on an informal setting. In order to achieve this we would have to become more open minded to the ideas of the opposition. #uwj201 #314
@m_yurioka I agree with the Internet the filter bubble around us is quite strong and difficult to escape. An extreme way would be limit our internet exposure but a more feasible way would be to open ourselves to multiple viewpoints and opinions. #UWJ201 #314
@arosenfeld_ People definitely effect the media as much as the media effects us. I believed we talked in lecture how some news coverage actually came about based on a sub Reddit room. Twitter also plays a big role in the media's coverage. #UWJ201 #314
@CeceBabat I definitely believe people are more polarized when issue publics are involved. When you believe so strongly about a topic you are less likely to listen to others, thus creating a divide between you and others. #UWJ201 #314
