@glennklockwood Cool rack graphics is one thing but if someone doesn't slap an "A Legitimate Salvage" sticker on one of the doors then we must question their nerd credentials.
But here's to hoping that the deployment process doesn't turn their systems group into weeping somnambulists.
If you are writing a paper where you compare performance & productivity of two implementations, and your (presumed lower-performing) implementation is done but your coauthor's (presumed higher-performing) implementation is taking forever to write... aren't you actually done? #HPC

When other people bring this figure up I feel a great sense of relief, because I sometimes doubt that I actually saw it or that it exists and that it wasn't just a hallucination or a dream.
Exciting news about JupyterCon:

We can't wait to bring everyone together for the return of this conference. Dates and location will be announced soon.
Today I observed a mailing list where someone hit reply-all, and it was silly. Then it was more silly when the person who sent the original email also hit reply-all to reply. But it got even sillier when someone hit reply-all to tell the first two people not to reply-all.
@axccl@alan_sill@glennklockwood On other systems I think it's an intern who's been logged in as root and types "cd /tmp && rm -rf *" between jobs but here we have goats that do it.
