@Avacado_Op Good question. Resorting to take some one's life to avoid marriage in this day and age as opposed to simply refusing to marry, is hard to fathom.
You want to protect Constitutional values and Rights of people ??? You must be joking. #TMC and #Congress neither have blazing track records, when it comes to protecting rights of people. You should seriously consider quitting from politics. You are an embarassment, foisted upon the people of India by a servile party that lacks a spine.
Charity starts from home. Time your leader, RAGA learnt a thing or two instead of obfuscating every single issue on which he decides to ramble. As for you, if you think bad mouthing the Indian Prime Minister on non issues will win you elections, your election strategy is not just flawed it needs a complete overhaul.
Till very recently when you were the Chief Minister of West Bengal, it was rare to see you wishing, people of Bengal on culturally relevant occasions such as, Poila Baisakh and Pochishe Boishakh. This year you have coincidentally extended your wishes to people of Bengal, on both occasions. We will let people of Bengal decide if your new found love for Bengali culture is merely a coincidence or it is a too little, too late attempt at clutching straws, in the wake of a political Tsunami that decisively decimated TMC's brand of minority appeasement politics.
Sad to say, if any thing you will be remembered for your divisive brand of politics that had more takers in Bangladesh than in India, for obvious reasons. In the years to come, TMC much like its predecessor, CPM will be relegated to the sidelines of India's political landscape and the blame for TMC's ignominious exit will lay squarely on your shoulders as well as other leaders of your Party.
@th_anonymouse While you have a right to your opinion, be informed that you are in a miniscule minority, whose disparaging opinion won't stop the rapidly advancing juggernaut of Dhurandar Part 2 from smashing all Bollywood box office film records, both real and doctored.
The current Government has taken the first step in the right direction by launching the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. It is also the people who need to own up responsibility for keeping not just their individual homes clean but also stop treating public places as garbage dumps, for the Government to clean.
It is easy to blame the Government and pass the buck. One must start awareness campaigns from one's own house to the neighborhood and beyond on merits of cleanliness, including why it is a win-win not just for the environment but also for people's health.
@oshawacity
Dear Sirs,
As a resident of the City of Oshawa, I would like to draw your attention to large snow windrows being deposited at the end of our driveway on Ormond Drive, at least 3 to 4 times, after every snow storm. City's snow clearing crews have been sweeping snow from Ormond Drive and Askew Court (arterial road) and at every pass deposited a snow windrow on the entrance of our driveway.
It is unfair to us as corner house residents to have to clear snow windrows left behind by insensitive and/or inadequately trained and ill equipped snow clearing staff. Please have the situation remedied before the next bout of snow hits us. That is the least I expect from a municipality that is among the highest tax charging municipalities in the GTA.
I doubt you can list even 5 proactive actions Kejriwal took when he was at the helm of affairs in Delhi, to address pollution. The truth is you are aware of this but won't admit it because of your blind support for a politician who managed to cling on to power for 10 long years, on the back of his false promises.
@FedExHelp
Dear Sirs,
We recently had to undergo a nerve racking experience with a shipment of personal effects that my son had handed over to a FedEx location in New Jersey, US with Master Tracking number – 886365241649. Here are details of what transpired after the 8 packages were handed to the FedEx location in New Jersey:
There were 8 boxes, each comprising of personal effects my son wanted shipped from US to Canada, as he was leaving for Canada permanently. Each of the remaining 7 boxes had individual tracking numbers tied to the Master tracking number above.
The boxes were handed over to the FedEx office on Nov 24th.
On Nov 26th after seeing no movement of his shipment towards Canada on the FedEx site, my son called up FedEx toll free number and was informed his packages were being returned back to him as the shipment had an issue. FedEx customer service representative had no clear response on why shipment was being returned back to my Son’s home address (shipper), in New Jersey.
This posed a unique challenge to my son who was all set to drive back with us to Canada on Thursday (Nov 27th and had vacated his rental unit where he lived and handed over its keys to the leasing office that owned the apartment complex.
Initially FedEx notifications gave date of delivery of goods at the Shipper's address as Nov 27th). Upon calling up FedEx help line my son was told his shipment would be returned to him on Nov 28th, since Nov 27th was a US holiday (Thanksgiving).
As a result we had to extend our Hotel stay in New Jersey by two nights (Thu) and (Fri), entailing additional expenses besides the untold inconvenience.
The packages finally arrived in Morristown on Friday afternoon (Nov 28th) and we had to physically get them off the FedEx truck after speaking to the FedEx truck driver about the Case. To rub salt into our wounds, FedEx only handed over 7 boxes to my son. The 8th box was missing and the FedEx delivery truck driver was unaware about its whereabouts.
My son once again called up FedEx toll free number and promptly reported the missing box on Nov 28th. He was informed, his complaint would be investigated. To this day FedEx has been unable to trace the missing box, which had personal effects in excess of USD 200/-.
Our recent brush with FedEx has not only been harrowing for us, it resulted in additional Hotel expenses being incurred by us, to the tune of USD 400, besides the missing box. FedEx needs to seriously review and completely overhaul their customer complaint resolution processes, to make them accountable and customer centric, unless ofcourse the FedEx Management would like a going concern to be gone for good, in the not so distant future.
On a scale of 1 to 10, we would just about rate our recent experience with FedEx at a ‘1’. For our next shipment, FedEx would definitely not make the cut to our list of preferred shippers.
Seriously, are you an ex IIT graduate or did you game the educational system to get your degree ? Are you getting funds from foreign entities and countries inimical to india's geopolitical interests ?
Your party's and your very own political survival hangs by a sole, slender thread in Punjab, thanks to the innate dramatist in you who lies exposed to the Indian voter. Your brand of politics where rhetoric rules supreme delivery be damned, has no place in India. Time you started looking for a new career outside of politics.
95 elections lost under your stellar leadership and counting. Stop making excuses and blaming everything else but your own ineffectual leadership that lacks coherence & vision for the country.
The only way you can save your Party is to permanently bid adieu to politics. If you don't, well then a century of losses awaits you, which will make your forgettable legacy a lesson for political newbies on pitfalls to avoid if one wishes to succeed in politics.
Not only should the antecedents of this university be scrutinized under a microscope, any collusion with Government officials, politicians and common citizenry for out of turn approvals, should be investigated throughly. Educational institutions cannot be allowed to become breeding grounds for sedition and terror activities afainst the country. Promoters of such institutions should be prosecuted and if proven to be guilty should be put behind bars for the rest of their lives.
One should not be surprised at Pakistan's irresponsible and dimwitted threat of taking half the world down with them using their nuclear arsenal, because one expects this from a rogue country notorious for exporting terrorism around the world.
What is surprising though is the fact this threat was made from US soil. Or perhaps the irresponsible comment by Munir is premeditated and a cue for POTUS to chip in with a peace deal offer of mediation between 2 nuclear rivals, thereby again stake a claim for what has been an elusive Noble Peace Prize.
@AnObserversView I became a vegetarian nearly two decades ago. Personal health, compassion for other living beings and a greener planet were my major drivers, for turning to a plant based diet. Have not repented my decision even once in the last 20 years.
When an opinion is primarily driven by a bias, then rational thinking is the last thing on a person's mind. At least this is one's conclusion even if one only skims though your comments. Going to war with a minnow neighbor, notwithstanding the fact that their economy is on a ventilator, is actually vastly different from playing gilli-danda in the street.
The decision to attack, its location, timing and scale are best left to Generals and other defence strategists, who are well versed in the art of war. Despite my great respect for your intellect which has sadly eluded you lately, your comments would not make the cut on a stand up comedy show.
Despite your misgivings India is likely to go for our irksome neighbor's jugular this time and won't be merely satisfied by neutralizing a few pawns and their handlers holed in some bunker. The Pahalgam incident has the hallmarks of a high stakes game, conjured by a beleagured Pakistani army leadership without apparently giving any thought to its deadly outcome for their country or its people.
Was the Government ever accountable during the time when Congress was mis-governing at the Center ? Sorry to say this but it is unfortunately people with your mindset whose logic gets hijacked by your servility towards a party, that is in fact responsible for most ills plaguing the country since independence.
The current Government has at least been doing away with stumbling blocks like Article 370, Waqf Bill and its subsequent draconian amendments etc., wilfully introduced by a wily #Congress leadership of that time, for minority appeasement.
Retaining power by hook or by crook was and will always be Congress's end game in all its rhetoric and actions, rights of Hindu majority in the country be damned.
Sir, it is my earnest request to you and Government of India, to leave no stone unturned to uncover not only the cowards behind today's heinous attack in Kashmir, but also their master minds. All voices with no exceptions, that act as apologists for such cowardly terror attacks, within or outside the country must also be identified and incarcerated for long prison terms asap.

I strongly condemn the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that the injured recover at the earliest. All possible assistance is being provided to those affected.
Those behind this heinous act will be brought to justice...they will not be spared! Their evil agenda will never succeed. Our resolve to fight terrorism is unshakable and it will get even stronger.
