@3DTOPO And then a third pass on the “less abstract” and small brush size so it can paint the finer details for me. This process works great as a starting point for something I will then paint over, but it often lacks cohesion between the variations
@3DTOPO That’s the way I’ve used oilist the most: I start the first image, save it as early as I can during the underpaint when it gives me a result I like. Then I proceed to do a second pass usually with medium settings and medium brush size;
@3DTOPO What I always though of was an image delivered in maybe 5 layers, the underpaint, small, medium, large brush strokes and also outlining. So I could mask the areas I want each effect and then achieve a more polished result.
@3DTOPO As far as I can tell, it works the same a skilled painter would, you first underpaint and then go add layer upon layer of detail, all that while activating the “chaos” functions to add an element of randomness while also sticking the pieces together
@3DTOPO This is absurdly well done. Does this image have canvas texture applied? I loaded it into ps and after a couple sharpening passes it feels absolutely unreal how good the texture is.
