It feels like Israel and the US are preparing for another major round of battle. I am guessing they will feel obliged to interrupt Khamenei's funeral, and that's the time window I'm seeing for this round.
I also think that they are planning for a week or so of maximum brutality, after which they will immediately seek a ceasefire, with much of Iran's infrastructure lying in ruins.
Their thinking is that Iran needs time to fully flex its military muscles (in the shape of its ground forces, and those of its allies in Yemen and Iraq), so they will apply a mix of intense violence and fake diplomacy to maximize their advantage (surprise and initial speed and momentum), and neutralize Iran's advantages (strategic depths, discipline under stress, and a superior deployment across the region).
Now or in 3 months, or years, they will leave Iran no choice but to crush every colonial presence in West Asia. Colonizers do not relent or change their long term goals, ever. They are addicted to violence and a sense of superiority. They will never let Iran exist in (one) peace.

Soros wasn’t just meddling in Ukraine or backing NGOs. He was wired into the US State Department for half a century.
Not a philanthropist. A partner in empire.
The WikiLeaks cables don’t theorize, they document. From the Kissinger years through the colour revolutions and on to today’s digital censorship regime, Soros wasn’t outside the power structure, he was embedded within it. He briefed American diplomats. He seeded his operatives across “civil society.” He engineered “grassroots” revolts that just so happened to align with Washington’s regime-change goals. And all along, he moved under the radar, cloaked in the language of human rights and democracy promotion, while serving the cold steel of U.S. neocon and neoliberal interests.
This wasn’t foreign policy. This was privatized empire, franchised through NGOs, media networks, election monitors, think tanks, and digital “disinfo experts” who now masquerade as neutral referees. But the cables expose the continuity, the same playbook that took down Milosevic, Saakashvili, Yanukovych, and others is now being adapted for the online battlefield. Today’s censorship regimes from “trusted flaggers,” “digital safety boards,” to “fact-checking coalitions” — are simply colour revolutions in cyberspace. They don’t topple governments, they delegitimize dissent. They don’t roll tanks, no need, they roll out deplatforming. But the logic is identical... remove opposition, install ideological compliance, but always call it democracy.
Soros wasn’t the mastermind. He was the model. The prototype of an oligarch who fused finance with narrative, foundation money with regime policy, and built a soft power machine capable of bending entire nations to the will of a few. But where did the foundation money come from? From Wall Street windfalls greased by deregulation, from currency speculation that crippled entire economies, and from a system that rewards ideological obedience with unimaginable capital. Soros turned those billions into battalions, of NGOs, journalists, "election monitors", academics, and digital enforcers, all marching under the banner of “open society.” Taking that machine global. From the EU to Latin America, from Big Tech to academia, we’re watching a seamless merger of unaccountable capital, imperial foreign policy, and digital enforcement. The power structure doesn’t wear a uniform anymore — it wears a hoodie, a think tank badge, or a “disinformation expert” title.
History doesn’t whisper. It waits in silence until the dam breaks. And now it has. These cables don’t leak, they roar. Not speculation. Not theory. Confession. In their own words. Across decades. Proof that the humanitarian mask was always stitched by the same hands that pulled the levers of regime change.
Soros wasn’t some exception or odios maverick. He was the template. And his networks didn’t grow in the shadows, they were cultivated, sanctioned, and deployed.
Now the archive turns against the architects. The very machine that policed truth, flagged dissent, and manufactured consent, is being undone by its own receipts.

I just learned of the passing of Pope Francis. My heart goes out to the millions of Christians all over the world who loved him.
I was happy to see him yesterday, though he was obviously very ill. But I’ll always remember him for the below homily he gave in the very early days of COVID. It was really quite beautiful.
May God rest his soul.

Update: #FARDC troops have re-entered #Bukavu after #RDF / #M23 rebels unexpectedly withdrew less than 24 hours after seizing the city. The Rwanda Defense Forces / rebels had stormed #Bukavu on Friday after capturing #Kavumu Airport, forcing officials to flee.
Their sudden pullout remains unexplained - whether tactical, logistical, or due to external pressure. While residents welcome #FARDC’s return, fears persist over another #M23 assault as government forces struggle to contain the rebellion.
