Movie Review: Mango Pachcha
Language: Kannada
Genre: Coming-of-Age Crime Drama
Cast: Sanchith Sanjeev, Kaajal Kunder, Mayur Patel, and Others
Director: Viveka Prakash
Plot:
Set in early-2000s Mysuru, Mango Pachcha follows Prashant, fondly known as Pachcha (Sanchith Sanjeev), a youngster who runs a DVD shop and dreams of making a name for himself in the city. When an unexpected opportunity comes his way, his life takes a dramatic turn, setting him on a path that transforms his ambitions and identity.
Writing & Direction:
Director Viveka Prakash deserves credit for delivering a crisp and engaging narrative. The film avoids unnecessary distractions and remains focused on Pachcha's journey and transformation. The absence of clichéd hero-introduction songs works in its favor, while the protagonist's character arc is written with conviction and purpose.
Performances:
The film's biggest strength is undoubtedly debutant Sanchith Sanjeev. Playing a character with multiple shades is never easy, especially for a newcomer, but he impresses with his confidence, screen presence, and intensity. While comparisons with his uncle Kichcha Sudeep are inevitable, Sanchith showcases enough individuality to indicate a promising future. Kaajal Kunder and Mayur Patel perform their roles effectively and deliver what the script demands.
Technical Aspects:
Charan Raj's music and background score significantly elevate the film's impact. The inclusion of a popular 90s Kannada song is particularly effective, with its placement adding emotional weight to the narrative. Shekar Chandra's cinematography complements the story well and captures the period setting convincingly.
What Could Have Been Better:
While Pachcha's character receives substantial attention, several supporting characters feel underdeveloped and underutilized. The cameo appearance towards the climax, seemingly inspired by similar moments in other language films, doesn't quite land. Although the film's short runtime keeps it engaging, it also leaves little room for deeper emotional exploration, causing some key moments to feel rushed and only partially effective.
Overall:
Mango Pachcha is a decent coming-of-age crime drama that marks a promising debut for Sanchith Sanjeev. With an engaging narrative, strong music, and a noteworthy lead performance, the film makes for a worthwhile watch and leaves you curious about Sanchith's future projects.
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐½ (3.5/5)

When He can become India team coach after winning just one IPl title as coach
Why Rajat can't be in India team even after winning two back back trophies 😂
PR man PR @rrjjt_01
Harshit Rana got endless backing coz he's from KKR. Now Rajat Patidar keeps getting ignored coz he's from RCB.
Gambhir is starting to look less like India's coach & more like a franchise loyalist. Misusing a position of power to push personal biases is never a good look.
Thank you selectors for ignoring RaPa from the Indian team. Now the other IPL teams will pay for it...
He is coming for hat-trick of trophies next season!🔥
People reject over the top action like #KDTheDevil.
They don't support subtle action like #MangoPachcha either.
And films like #Blink, #Murphy and #Teertharoopa that tried something different also struggled to get audiences.
So, what exactly do Kannada audiences want to watch?
Sad no Rajat Patidar in the indian squad. What else he needs to do ? Scored 501 runs strike rate almost 200 . Unfair 💔 @rrjjt_01 Easily the best middle order in India . Proper striker with good technique
Vikrant Gupta on Rajat Patidar (a week ago) 🗣️:
"The problem with Rajat Patidar is that he comes from MP where there's no PR behind you, no marketing agents to push you, the area where other cricketers take advantage. There were names coming out for T20I captaincy few days back in media and Rajat wasn't mentioned in them because of the lack of PR. But he's still one of the contendors for it and he's got RCB fans behind him after all"
