It has now been 2 weeks my mom has been without a fridge . Haier service centre said they can not repair it so offered a brand new fridge same model in exchange .
The engineer who is supposed to execute this has gone on holiday . Quite surprising it was not delegated to someone before he left . His name is Amit Chatterjee from DSC Kolkata service centre . May I request some one from Senior Management to call me on 9810301745 immediately.
How long should a refrigerator last? Why limit to Fridges, AC too !
An on going situation .My mother, a senior citizen in her 70s who lives alone in Kolkata, is facing a frustrating experience with a #Haierindia refrigerator that stopped cooling.
The service journey went like this:
➡️ Engineer #1 diagnosed a blockage and charged for gas filling.
➡️ Problem remained unresolved.
➡️ After escalation, Engineer #2 diagnosed a gas leak.
➡️ Fridge was taken for inspection.
➡️ Final verdict: "Cannot be repaired. Buy a new refrigerator."
What concerns me is not just the outcome, but the process.
How did the first engineer miss the actual problem?
Why were charges incurred before a proper diagnosis?
Why is the default solution increasingly becoming "replace" instead of "repair"?
A refrigerator is not a disposable product. Consumers invest their hard-earned money expecting years of reliable service. Not every family can simply spend another ₹30,000–₹40,000 because a service center recommends a replacement.
Meanwhile, my mother has been without a fridge for over a week, affecting food storage and medication.
This raises a larger question:
Are appliance companies losing control of outsourced service centers, and are consumers paying the price?
Disappointed by the experience and the lack of meaningful response despite escalations to Director Level. Need a solution urgently. Beyond customer service resolution .

Sharing: Sister-in-law purchased a E-Scooter from Hero Electric. It's been more than a year they have been running around to get their stand still new scooter to work again. Fault: Battery not working. Hero excuse they longer have that battery in stock.
Shop they bought it from as now closed so exchanging and buying an alternative wasn't an option. They had to buy a new scooter while the other one stands still accumulating dust. I tried reach out to Naveen Munjal on LinkedIn have to no resolution, but management doesn't respond
