भारत के सबसे पिछड़े समुदायों में गिने जाने वाले मुसहर समाज की आवाज़ अब आरक्षण में समीक्षा (Review) की मांग उठा रही है।

मुसहर समाज के नेता संतोष सुमन ने सवाल उठाया कि लगभग 60 लाख की आबादी वाले इस समाज को आज तक आरक्षण का महज़ 1% लाभ भी नहीं मिला। दावा यह भी है कि पूरे समाज से एक भी मुसहर UPSC में चयनित नहीं हो पाया, जबकि स्नातकों की संख्या भी 100 से कम बताई जा रही है।

सवाल बिल्कुल सीधा है अगर आरक्षण का उद्देश्य सबसे वंचित और पिछड़े लोगों को अवसर देना है, तो क्या यह सुनिश्चित नहीं होना चाहिए कि उसका लाभ सबसे पिछड़े व्यक्ति तक भी पहुँचे?

Reservation Reform की मुहिम अब सिर्फ सोशल मीडिया की बहस नहीं रही यह उन समुदायों की आवाज़ बन रही है, जिन्हें दशकों बाद भी अपने हिस्से का अवसर नहीं मिला।
