@KylePorterNS Don’t get too obsessed with Rory, the media always puts a lot of unnecessary pressure on him with this kind of data, tomorrow is a new day and 2 strokes is not a big gap in Augusta, Bryson is a better finisher in majors, can you put some statistics about that?
In 1994, Greg Norman told Pete Dye he was going to “chew up TPC Sawgrass”. He then shot an opening 63 and 3 x 67’s to set the 36 and 54 hole scoring records and beat the 72 hole record by 6 on 24 under. The record stands to this day!🔥🇦🇺
@SharkGregNorman
@GolfChannelLA Que idea tan original!! Se parece mucho a una que propuso el tiburón junto con un grupo de Arabia Saudita ! Muy bien por Rory que empieza el año creativo
#LIVGolf Course Preview - El Camaleón @ Mayakoba
LIV Golf’s first event will tee off in just 30 days so let’s look into what El Camaleón at Mayakoba has to offer!
This Greg Norman design has frequently been regarded as one of Mexico’s top courses. Most known for the natural caverns that are expertly worked into the course design. The cenotes, or caves, provide a unique visual that you wont find on many other courses in the world. I’ve attached a picture of one in the first fairway below, it’s around a 285 carry to the front of it and it’s right in the middle of the fairway and has been named the “Devil’s Mouth”. This hole generally plays as one of the hardest on the course.
What I like most about El Camaleón is the versatility of the course. At times it looks like you’re playing a resort course like Kapalua, but then other holes resemble a rainforest and you’re trying to avoid massive caves. While El Camaleón isn’t the hardest course you’re find on a professional circuit, it makes for a fantastic viewing experience and everyone that I know who’s played it has thoroughly enjoyed it.
El Camaleón played host to a PGA Tour event for several years, as recently as 2022 with the World Wide Technology in November of 2022. Viktor Hovland won in both 2020 and 2021 here. You may remember hearing about Matt Kuchar winning here and having some.. issues.. with his caddy afterward. Prior to LIV Golf coming here both Graeme McDowell and Pat Perez won here, in 2015 and 2016 respectively.
Last year’s event was a runaway as Charles Howell III put on an impressive display. While he only shot -3 in the first round (3 shots off the lead), he was able to follow that up with a strong -5 on the second day. Heading into the third round just one shot back from Peter Uihlein and Talor Gooch, he shot -7 on the opening 9 and gave himself a comfortable lead. He ended up winning the event by four shots and leading his @Crushers_GC team to a win at the inaugural event of the 2023 season.
We are very proud to have our #GNGCD designed course at @AlmoujGolfOman voted "Player's Choice Golf Course of the Year" by @asiantourgolf members. They have made history this year by hosting the first GCC International Series event! Kudos team 👏 #AlMoujGolf

@Daniel_Rapaport They owned without having to owned with the best players in the world, which they took for granted, and decided not to consider them in their most important desicion at the time… taking GN & LIV call…
Jon Rahm is now gone, Tony Finau and Tyrell Hatton are rumored to leave for LIV next. PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monohan is without a doubt going to be forced to resign. There’s no surviving this for him. He should have taken Greg Norman’s call from the start. Huge mistake.
I am proud to join @livgolf_league and be part of something new that is bringing growth to the sport. I have no doubt that this is a great opportunity for me and my family and am very excited for the future.
Welcome to the LIV family @JonRahmpga. I met you when you were 19 and recognized your immense talent at the time. Your accomplishments since then have been tremendous. Look forward to an incredible journey ahead mate.
