@tayasbaltimore You gotta love the prosecutor’s confidence: “believes he’ll get a guilty verdict because he’ll have more time to call witnesses who can link Jimmerson to the shooting.” 10 years wasn’t enough to find a credible witness, it’s not gonna happen, dude.
Texas Sheriffs fought to keep this body cam footage secret, now we know why---I have a report tonight that is absolutely heart wrenching but I hope you will join me to support the victim and to hold police accountable. Tonight 9pmEST with live chat https://t.co/QaabI2yc3O
I had a PAR report planned for tonight but had to postpone it because I am asking for your help to push the tragic story of Mr Rigoberto Barrientos out to the public https://t.co/QaabI2yc3O If we release video now we know this report will be buried have seen it happen before
Even in their professional career, a LIFETIME long position, they liberally spackle on much more brazen flim-flamery into the arguments of their opinions. They could demur one iota and not rub our noses in it, or even moderate their decisions one tick. No, they do not.
I think we will find no bottom to this ongoing story about billionaires courting SCOTUS justices. With the utter brazenness of their flim-flam excuses (akin to “Senator, my dog ate my disclosures”), do you really think that these justice hustlers would show any restraint?
@SharonDanielleB@JoyceWhiteVance Of course, Justice Thomas wrote a separate dissent to criticize the court’s prior decision in NYT v Sullivan, and I don’t agree with his view there.
@SenWhitehouse Also, the liberals are less blatantly aligned with monied interests. Oh, btw there are TWICE as many conservative justices as liberals. Even if they were all equally corrupt and equitably investigated, there would still be TWICE as much coverage of conservatives as the liberals.
@SenWhitehouse Those people complaining that conservative justices are getting criticized much more than the liberals, here’s a question for you. If you were looking to use your wealth to influence the result of a SCOTUS case, why would you bribe the losing minority of 3?
@DefeatDemBums @jasonrantz If there were any comparable stories about liberal justices, then you better believe that Fox News would have been covering 24-7. The fact that they are not means that there aren’t any similar stories, or maybe the liberal justices have at least disclosed the relevant facts.
Leo’s SCOTUS milkshake brings all the far-right legal boys to the yard (and also some ladies obviously). It’s nothing for him to send a horde of them boys to Jane Roberts’ yard. When there is so much money flowing, there is sure to be lots of SCOTUS corruption yet to be revealed.
People seem to be missing a crucial detail about the SCOTUS billionaire daddy issue. Even if the daddy in question has zero connection to any SCOTUS case, it was Leonard Leo that arranged the hookup. Ultimately they are beholden TO LEO, and his life’s work is reshaping SCOTUS.
Seriously, Jane made $10 million in commissions over 8 years for “matching top lawyers with elite law firms”. How many of those were far-right lawyers whose careers Leo had a keen desire to advance? Leo is the fucking pied piper of ambitious arch-conservative lawyers.
@SenWhitehouse historical interpretations, over the strenuous objections of many history scholars. Similarly, he will just discount all the many recusal/disclosure experts screaming about how wrong he is. Worst of all, the lack of enforcement will only fuel this hubris.
@SenWhitehouse What is most shocking to me is the hubris, the over-the-top confidence despite being in conflict with scores of experts in areas that’s he’s far from an expert in. He displays this even more in his court decisions. In Dobbs, he just dismissed reams of evidence against his…
