Drake despite his global recognition and being of the biggest artistes in world today still gave Lil Wayne his flowers for establishing him; Nicki never misses a chance to do the same all these years. But many Nigerian artistes will start acting like they are self-made, and disrespect those who gave them a chance to become who they are today. The humility goes out the window once they accomplish a remarkable feat.
This is Sheikh Muhammed Gibirima, one of the prominent scholars within the Tijjaniyya order who was closely connected to Sheikh Ibrahim Inyass (RA). He was renowned for attaining the lofty station of Ma’arifa (divine gnosis), memorizing the Holy Qur’an, mastering its exegesis, and excelling in various branches of Islamic knowledge. He was also widely regarded as a man blessed with remarkable spiritual virtues and extraordinary gifts.
Sheikh Gibirima possessed an unquenchable passion for Zikr — the constant recitation of devotional litanies. Historical accounts narrate that he once used an entire 50kg sack of millet (gero) while continuously reciting the formula: “La ilaha illa’Llah, Muhammadun Rasulu ‘Llah.” After every recitation, he would pick a single grain of millet and set it aside, using the grains as a form of rosary (Charbi) until the entire sack was exhausted.
The President of Jibwis, Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau was seen using counter “charbi”… To be honest, a person can only deceive himself.
But wallahi, dhikr and salawat do not usually stay constantly with a person in this life unless there is motivation counter “charbi”
Anyone who brings you an ideology telling you to throw away that ‘charbi’ has deceived you.
That “charbi” is a powerful tool that reminds a person to make salawat, dhikr, istighfar, and so on.
Between you and Allah, without that motivation, and not even at the regular times after prayers, would you really set aside time on your own to constantly send salawat upon the Prophet?
But if you have that charbi with you, and you are used to holding onto it, you may not even notice when you suddenly begin doing dhikr. These are words that are light on the tongue but heavy on the scale (of good deeds)
