New flywheel in your reverse mount bellhousing still doesn't work correctly?????
chances are the idler gear and hardware need replaced also the face of the flywheel should be 1.250" (+/- .020") from the engine block --this is when using a 1/4" midplate
Can't get your float level set????
Smashed float may be the problem
3 things make this happen
most common---trying to start the engine with a carb hat on
next--airing up the cylinders to change valve springs with a carb hat on
also--filling bowls with squeeze bottle too quickly
Don't Tape It
Teflon tape should never be used as a thread sealant on the fuel system of a race car.
The loose pieces will find their way to areas that will cause tragedy.
The ONLY threads that need any sealer are pipe threads
When shipping carbs for service
PLEASE Pack them well
Minimum 13 inch cubed box (15 is better)
50% of carburetors sent for service are damaged in shipping
do not rely on insurance---good packing is your insurance!!
PRODUCT ALERT!
Bert Crate HTD Flywheel
part #: 320-NCEXT
We have found that the most recent run of the new batch of the HTD flywheels have been found to be too tight on the housing bore to the crankshaft dimension.
To check for proper fit, remove dowel pin from the crankshaft. At this point the flywheel should fit snug onto the crankshaft. Light bumps with your hand or a hammer are acceptable, but if you have to pull it on with the bolts the housing bore should be checked.
