Some of us were campaigning against this script a few years back. It's back with a vengeance. Please call it out:
- work is not a therapy or cure
- bad work makes mental health worse
-many will never work
- structure can be great so re-open day centres
- DWP pressure is deadly
It was hoped that this publication could go on to break such stereotypes, encourage other males who are struggling to seek help, and support professionals to ensure their services are fit for purpose, for all genders. [3/3]
Eating disorders affect over 1 million people living in the UK today, 1/4 of which are said to occur in males. However, due to stereotypes that they exist only in females, incidence rates may be much higher as males are prevented from seeking the help they need to recover. [2/3]
