What happened to listening to your healthcare providers? Since when are those without medical degrees professionals?

Oh, it’s because you aren’t. There are reasons why we don’t prescribe antibiotics as much as we used to, etc. listen to us. Please.

Patient with sinus congestion - “It’s not covid, I know it’s not covid. I’ve had covid before and I felt worse than this.”

Me - “yep, with this new variant you can actually get it again. Omicron is presenting just like a sinus infection. Actually the person in your seat

If you don’t have covid, congrats! Thank goodness actually. You can now go back to work knowing that you’re not spreading covid to your work family. You can also treat your common cold with over the counter meds and will start feeling better soon.

15/20 patients I swabbed for covid today were positive. Happy New Year!

Literally people don’t want to be swabbed for covid because they don’t want a swab up their nose. A younger woman just tried to refuse swabbing because “it goes up your nose and it will hurt.” Meanwhile, she has a 4 week infant at home with her. I have no words.

Mind you, 15 other people before this person had the same symptoms and were positive for covid. Im sorry you don’t think you have covid but you sound ridiculous.

Would you argue with your doctor if they told you that your hand was probably broken and needed an X-ray? No.

Today someone stormed out on me after I wanted them to get a covid test because they “didn’t want to be exposed to the chemicals on the swab.”

Then she left a Google review on how terrible we are saying we only swab for covid because we make money on each swab.

Why walk into an urgent care with covid symptoms to see a medical professional and refuse what they are suggesting you do?

What’s the point of even coming in?

I feel spent. I feel so exhausted. People are so ridiculous and don’t care about our medical opinions.

Elderly man with sinus congestion. We talk about covid. He denies any exposure. He says he’s vaccinated, but when I asked about his booster he says

“I’m not getting the booster! That’s Biden’s booster!”

Lol. What?

She asks “what am I supposed to do now?”

And then when I talk about quarantine she throws her papers down and says she can’t because her elderly aunt is living at her house.

??? All the more reason to test because said elderly aunt ???

A woman comes in for sinus congestion. “Feels like my normal infection, but dayquil isn’t working.”

We talk about covid. Told her she should swab.

“I don’t want tested because every test comes back positive.” (?????)

She’s positive.
She’s pissed.

A man comes in for mucus. Just mucus. Appalled I asked about covid. I nicely talked him into swabbing.

He’s positive.
He’s pissed.

Demands hydroxychloroquine. When I tell him that’s not an approved treatment he screams that the FDA are all liars.

I work in an Urgent Care now. Most patients that I see have coughs, congestion, ear pain, sore throats. As most of you know, these are covid symptoms. I’ve tested thousands of people for covid over the past year. It’s insane what people believe.
