The #NFL suggesting a return to play after ‘five minutes’ this evening tells you everything you need to know about how the league prioritizes player safety.
#5minutes
Sounds exactly like the “best of the best” doctors who told us my dad was just “getting old”…. died a few weeks later & later diagnosed with stage 3 of 4 CTE.
WHO in the world told Tua this? Sad.
IT HAPPENED AGAIN @NFL!
Cam Brate went back in 4 plays after showing #concussion signs from this huge hit to the head. He stayed down too long & couldn't run off the field fast enough to avoid a penalty. @TonyDungy says it was obvious he had a concussion. How did he go back in?
We’ll fight like hell to keep QBs who sexually assault women from getting suspended for too long but when one of the good guys has concussive symptoms, returns to the game, doesn’t enter concussion protocol, and is allowed to play 4 days later, “our investigation is ongoing.”
Do better, football. Do you care about your players? Coming from a daughter who lost her father to #CTE it does not appear so. Science is science.
The evidence was clear- Tua should not have stepped foot onto that field.
Ken Stabler with Alabama teammate Ray Perkins display the lucky coin that was tossed before the kickoff of the 1967 Sugar Bowl. Snake led the Crimson Tide to a 34-7 victory over Nebraska and earned the games MVP award.
Ray Perkins, who played at Alabama under Coach Bear Bryant and later succeeded him, had C.T.E., scientists found. “In my heart, I knew he had it,” said Lisa Perkins, his widow. https://t.co/B3OilN5nRg
They Made History at Alabama. But Football Stardom Had a Price.
#NFL coach Ray Perkins joins 3 fixtures of Alabama’s great teams of the 1960s who had #CTE at their deaths.
