Our One County, One Book initiative is part of the Teen Literature Festival and introduces young people in County Cork to Irish authors.
This year’s chosen book is ‘Global’ - the second collaborative graphic novel from Eoin Colfer and Andrew Donkin with illustrations by Giovanni Rigano.
This is a relevant graphic novel with a social conscience, highlighting climate change affecting us all on a global scale.
🌍As #OneCountyOneBookGoesGlobal we have some fun facts about countries and cities from all over the world for you!
🌳🏙️ In the middle of Tokyo’s skyscraper jungle, Shinjuku Gyoen Park absorbs 1,500 tons of CO₂ every year and keeps the area up to 5 °C cooler! Proof that sometimes the best climate tech is just… trees.
One County, One Book is a programme by Cork County Council Library and Arts Service and is supported by Creative Ireland.
👉There are still limited spaces remaining for secondary schools! Transition Year coordinators and teachers can contact [email protected] for more information and to express an interest in attending.
Copies of the book are available in our branch and mobile libraries throughout Cork County.
