Inspiring, vital and good work from @EmpathyWeek@EdKirwan and his team. It’s good to walk alongside thoughtful educationalists keen to support empathetic generations. A great launch to this year’s programme @Snap London Towers 🚀 last night!
Poetry people, I'm setting up a list for all things poetry. So I don't miss anyone can you please like and share this, and I'll add you if not already added, thank you.

The Crowhurst Yew, St Georges churchyard, Surrey 🌲
Not only witnessed every King & Queen of England, but was already 2,000 years old when the Romans arrived in Britain.
Astonishing to comprehend that this tree was even alive when the Egyptian Pyramids were built.
Incredible video. Afghan dad jokingly says school is only for boys. Watch his remarkable daughter - who can’t be more than 5 or 6 years old - respond with these arguments.
Afghan girls have been denied access to schools and universities. This little girl's courage represents the collective voice of countless Afghan girls who yearn for equal educational opportunities.
As an advocate for girls' education the father's teasing is simply to highlight an important message: that the Taliban - another backward regime - are harming the people of his country.
It’s time the world is done with them.

'The Skylark', by John Clare, on his 230th birthday:
'The rolls and harrows lie at rest beside
The battered road; and spreading far and wide
Above the russet clods, the corn is seen
Sprouting its spiry points of tender green,
Where squats the hare, to terrors wide awake,
Like some brown clod the harrows failed to break.
Opening their golden caskets to the sun,
The buttercups make schoolboys eager run,
To see who shall be first to pluck the prize—
Up from their hurry, see, the skylark flies,
And o'er her half-formed nest, with happy wings
Winnows the air, till in the cloud she sings,
Then hangs a dust-spot in the sunny skies,
And drops, and drops, till in her nest she lies,
Which they unheeded passed—not dreaming then
That birds which flew so high would drop agen
To nests upon the ground, which anything
May come at to destroy. Had they the wing
Like such a bird, themselves would be too proud,
And build on nothing but a passing cloud!
As free from danger as the heavens are free
From pain and toil, there would they build and be,
And sail about the world to scenes unheard
Of and unseen—Oh, were they but a bird!
So think they, while they listen to its song,
And smile and fancy and so pass along;
While its low nest, moist with the dews of morn,
Lies safely, with the leveret, in the corn.'
My daughter lives in Brighton. One day last month we climbed up into the Downs, and all the way we saw and heard the skylarks rising from the fields around us. I'd told her it was my favourite John Clare poem, so when we reached the top of Black Cap we stopped, and read this poem aloud to them.
@RevRichardColes so sorry to read in the @guardian that you’re finishing on @BBCRadio4 on Saturdays. Was one of my favourite potterings of a weekend. Here’s to new adventures for you!
Of course she's brilliant and working with her is the greatest blessing a scruffy music teacher like me could dream of.
But Lucy is what happens when you make instrumental tuition available to disadvantaged children.
Help us to get this message across to those who decide.
I have a go here at explaining briefly why 'being impartial' does not mean 'having no political opinions'. Can the nation get a philosophy lesson please! https://t.co/LQ9zaBAzgd
