@bobsmietana Bob—thank you for being committed to her true legacy. She was a dear friend—the kind that cannot be described by words. The grief I feel is indescribable which tells you enough… that the love she gave to me and how she cared for me will never be replaceable.
The Lord is Jennifer Lyell’s Shepherd. She shall no longer long to see right made of wrong. She has walked through the valley of the shadow of death. She fears no evil, for he is with her and she, with him. His rod and his staff, they comfort her. He prepares a table before Jennifer in the presence of her enemies. He anoints her head with oil. Her cup overflows. Surely Goodness and Mercy have walked her all the way home. She now dwells in the house of the Lord forever.
The death of Jennifer Lyell @Jenlyell is devastating for all of us who loved her. She was brilliant, brave, and suffered much. She is now, at long last, safe.
Much, much more to say, but, for now, just grief and gratitude.
@combstaylor_ I love all of this. The last three years for me have taken me on a similar journey. Jesus is so much better and the gospel so much more beautiful.
@BrianDembo The last few years have been wildly eye opening to me. Abuse runs rampant because we train people to think like this. And what this reduces me to personally? I’m grieved.
I am absolutely grieved by this article. If you want to know why women struggle with knowing God’s true character, we can start with articles like this. Being reduced to this is heartbreaking.
@ShannonDingle We don’t know each other but I’m so sorry. I can’t imagine how horrific it is to relive that trauma. Thank you for being an advocate for so many others who will no doubt recognize your incredible bravery.
Regardless of *what* you think or say about Covid, this is *how* every Christian is urged by the Lord to enter and carry on such important, potentially disorienting conversations.
