Today we welcomed @TheAdamCorbally into school. Adam became a motivational speaker back in 2012 after he reached the final in season 8 of the hit T.V. show “The Apprentice” and very soon after became a member of the professional speaker’s association.
This afternoon we held our annual Senior Citizens Christmas Party. It was lovely to welcome some of the local community back into school. Our guests were treated to a Christmas lunch and performances from our wonderful performing arts and music students.
The increased stress and pressure that Ofsted exerts on teachers is a large contributor to many leaving the profession.
Ofsted’s time is up! That’s why we are proud to be part of the #BeyondOfsted inquiry which will release its report later this year.
The best way to have a long teaching career is to make peace as soon as you can with the fact that you’ll never get everything done and some things will just get left.
Which is ridiculous when you think about it, but true.
Sorry I know in the scheme of things it’s genuinely terrible that this woman is in charge but this is actually very funny. I’ve burst out laughing at it twice.
Music helps calm nerves. Music helps to psych us up. Music helps bring friends together. Music helps provide a meaningful purpose. Music helps provide a sanctuary and safe space. Music helps provide an emotional outlet. Music helps people get through the day like nothing else.
Being a music teacher can be incredibly difficult. Always having to justify our place in the curriculum, our place in schools, our budget, our resources, our time, our existence. It’s all made worth it when you realise the indelible mark we leave on the lives of young people.

Performing Arts pupils from Y9-12 visited @edgehill to take part in some performing arts workshops . They enjoyed workshops in dance, drama and musical theatre and got to experience life at university.
