@Oregonian CORRECTION: Harris is the 2nd person of color to be VP. The 1st was the 31st VP Charles Curtis who served under Oregon-raised Herbert Hoover. VP Curtis was an enrolled member of the Kaw Nation.

He is still the highest ranking Native American ever serve in the Federal Gov’t.
