I often hear companies blame lack of engineering talent or culture for an inability to compete with Amazon. IMHO, this is hogwash. The problem is almost always in the executive layer and lack of any positional strategy. By the time the change has become visible it is too late.

I would say while some libraries may be more readily embracing manifestations of technology, they’re not embracing the professional aspects of managing technology.
