Last Q3 lap compare between HAM & LEC using @f1_tempo_. No straightline difference between them, suggesting they are both using pre-Monza PU. While enforced for LEC by Monza crash, this makes sense for HAM on less power sensitive tracks to avoid a PU penalty later. #F1#SpanishGP
An extract of an article from @wearetherace after FP2. Complete mis-information, only half the grid were on their max downforce RW for FP2, and none of the top 4 teams were included in this. Once again the mainstream media mis-leading fans... #F1#MexicoGP
Using @f1_tempo_ - in HAM's final Q3 run, a snap at T9 cost 0.2s to other top cars and his previous laps. Without this, it would be a comfortable P2 start. Nevertheless, since the summer break there have been clear signs of improvement in qualifying in particular. #F1#USGP
Looking into Sprint Qualifying data from @f1_tempo_, on FER's first flying laps HAM was five tenths faster than LEC before the entry instability at T14 which combined with a lift through T15 (perhaps due to dirty tyres from running offline) lost over a second. #F1#BelgianGP
Mind blowing how mainstream F1 media continue to make obvious mistakes. Surely these articles are proof-read. Days later and it is still wrong. Ferrariโs new floor was introduced in Austria not Silverstone. #F1#BelgianGP

Other than 2021, which was a complete washout, there has not been meaningful rain during an F1 race at Spa since 2010 which is pretty incredible given the typical climate. Current forecast suggests showers are possible for Sunday. #F1#BelgianGP
Finally someone in the mainstream media showing the courage to call out a history of poor sportsmanship that absolutely sits alongside Senna and Schumacher. #F1#SpanishGP

Very poor strategy from Ferrari today - pitted HAM for new Soft in Q1 when he was on a lap that was comfortably fast enough to make it through (they had fuel, only stopped for tyres). Then on the out lap, the VER impeding happened. Also meant only 1 new Soft for Q3 #F1#MonacoGP
Regarding the LEC/ALB Imola incident, a point I haven't seen made is that LEC inadvertently cost ALB a position to HAM which he likely wouldn't have got. Consequences shouldn't be considered for penalties, but LEC returning the place didn't equalise the situation. #F1#ImolaGP
Comparison using @f1_tempo_ between HAM and LEC best Q2 laps. LEC benefitted from a tow on the back straight, gaining ~0.1s. Without this, HAM would have been ahead and both FER out of Q2 on pure pace. #F1#MiamiGP#TechF1
VER vs NOR from Hungary 23+24 Quali. RBR now very strong in high-speed T4/11, where MCL was match/stronger in 23. Despite this, RBR say their high-speed performance is worse vs expected. Might also show MCL has traded high-speed for better low-speed. Data - @f1_tempo_#F1#TechF1
Race summary from Hungary. An alternative way of looking at a race, giving a good overview of car pace and the key moments. Time is relative to an arbitrary reference lap. This is how teams view the race both during and after. #F1#TechF1
Hearing from sources with good knowledge of the situation that current simulations of 2026 F1 cars are double digit seconds slower than current cars around Spain. Last year, gap from F1 to F2 pole was 13 seconds, so best case we are looking at three seconds faster than F2... #F1
For those wondering why the 2026 F1 car modes are X-mode and Z-mode - in F1, coefficients of downforce and drag are used to measure aero performance. These are often referred to as Cx (drag) and Cz (downforce). Z-mode is max downforce, X-mode is min drag. #F1
One bizarre aspect of the 2026 #F1 rules - the cars will be burning additional fuel just to power the battery. There is insufficient energy recovery from the rear axle alone. Very inefficient process just to encourage manufacturersโฆ #TechF1#F12026
2026 F1 rules are a disgrace to the sport - massively simplified cars with no fences under the floor, no wing along the edge of the floor, and a large part of the floor having to be flat. There will be a brain drain - there is no longer room for creativity. #F1#TechF1
Another telemetry comparison using @f1_tempo_, this time from Hungary qualifying. Comparing the best laps from Norris and Verstappen, it is interesting to see that Norris actually had a higher minimum speed than the Red Bull in the high speed turns 4 and 11. #TechF1#F1
