Researchers at the University of Windsor tested aqueous dandelion root extract (DRE) on colon cancer cell lines. The results were striking:

>90% reduction in tumor growth in mice with human colon tumors after 75 days of oral treatment

Zero detectable toxicity – the mice didn't lose weight, their kidneys weren't affected

The extract activates both caspase-dependent and caspase-independent pathways. It targets mitochondrial vulnerabilities unique to cancer cells. And it even inhibited cancer cell migration – a key step in metastasis.

Here's the catch.

All of this was in laboratory conditions and animal models – not humans. Many substances that work brilliantly in a petri dish fail in the human body due to differences in absorption, metabolism, and immune response.

Health Canada actually approved a Phase I human trial back in 2012. But the study couldn't recruit enough volunteers. No clinical data was ever published.

The lead researcher, Dr. Caroline Hamm, has publicly warned that the viral claims are "misleading". She expressed concern about patients abandoning standard medicine based on these unfounded claims.

Here's the part that makes you think.

Why didn't that Phase I trial move forward? The researchers suggested that patient recruitment stalled. But some have asked a harder question: who funds clinical trials for a plant that grows in every backyard?
