🚨🚨🚨Israel go away
Our land in Albania is not for sale”
Mass protests erupted in Albania after part of Albanian territory was sold to USA and Israel https://t.co/UmY9MibhPW
🚨 Luis Suarez on the criticism surrounding Lionel Messi winning the 2026 Princess of Asturias Award for Sports:
🗣️ “I genuinely don't understand the controversy around Messi winning the Princess of Asturias Award for Sports.
I've seen people argue that someone else should have won it, while others have even brought up his past tax case to question the decision. To me, it feels like every time Leo receives a major honour, people immediately start looking for reasons to downplay it instead of appreciating everything he has achieved.
This award isn't just about trophies. It's about sporting excellence, influence, values, and the impact you've had on your sport and on society. If you look at Messi's career, there aren't many athletes in history who have left a bigger mark than he has.
We're talking about a player who spent more than two decades redefining football, breaking records, winning everything there is to win, and inspiring millions of people around the world. Whether you support him or not, his place among the greatest athletes of all time is undeniable.
At some point, people need to stop looking for flaws in every achievement and start appreciating the legacy. Leo has given football some of its greatest moments, and for everything he achieved and everything he gave to Barcelona, he deserves every honour that comes his way.
And as far as I'm concerned, Messi deserves a statue at Camp Nou. That's how important he is to the history of this club.”
