After nearly 3 weeks on Netflix, Fans are already desperate to see THE WONDERFOOLS renewed for a second season.
The series has recovered from a disappointing first week and has already amassed 14.6 million views. But will it be enough for Netflix to renew a "Limited Series" for a second season?
Director Yoo In Shik has yet to rule out a second season, and while he confirmed that the series was not made with a second season in mind, it is, however, "A happy question to consider." Which means the door to a second season isn't closed off just yet.

[💥] We want to take a moment for an appreciation post dedicated to the brilliant talent and hard work of Cha Eunwoo as Lee Unjeong in The WONDERfools. We are genuinely speechless and deeply proud. We know there will always be attempts to downplay his talent, impact, and buzz (especially right now across certain K-media outlets), but those of us who have followed actor Cha Eunwoo for years know exactly what he is capable of.
The WONDERfools is, of course, an incredible masterpiece thanks to the vision of director Yoo Insik, the acting brilliance of Park Eunbin, alongside a stellar supporting cast who deliver amazing performances and chemistry. Without them, The WONDERfools wouldn’t be what it is. But without Cha Eunwoo's acclaimed performance brings immense depth to the role, it wouldn’t be the same either—Lee Unjeong is the lynchpin of the story; without him, the plot wouldn't work.
We knew from the very beginning that he would succeed. For those who might not know, he has been a highly followed lead actor since 2018, and he never fails to deliver outstanding results across every OTT platform, rightfully earning the title of a “buzz icon.” At just 21 years old, his first leading role in My ID is Gangnam Beauty hit #1 on DramaFever (a former streaming platform owned by Warner Bros.) and earned him the Best New Actor award in 2018, backed by industry recognition. Since then, his record of accolades and achievements has only grown, proving that his impact is anything but a coincidence.
He has consistently topped charts and lists with every single project. Back in 2022 with Island, he starred in the first Korean production ever to enter Prime Video’s Global Top 10. Following that, it is no accident that True Beauty accumulated over 1 billion viewing hours on Netflix—a mind-blowing milestone, especially considering it was added to the platform only in 2024 and is still available in limited regions. We could honestly go on forever listing his incredible numbers, accolades, and chart-topping acting projects.
Never underestimate actor Cha Eunwoo. He is someone who works tirelessly in silence, step by step, and when he is on screen, he shines so brightly it is almost blinding. Eunwoo, you are already at the top, but with The WONDERfools, you are simply proving to everyone what you’ve always been made of: pure talent, charisma, and unmatched star power. Your visuals are just a bonus; those of us who truly connect with you do so because of your acting, dedication, and the way you perform on screen. We hope you never forget that.
Congratulations on your very first Netflix original drama—something you have truly deserved from the very beginning!
