𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗢𝗻𝗲 “𝗲/𝗮𝗰𝗰”?

e/acc ideology centers on the idea of growing the “meta-organism” of human society. A term of art within e/acc is the "Homo Techno-Capital Memetic Entity.” This is composed of individual humans with our collective technology, resource allocation, culture, and storytelling.

e/acc is interested in growing this entity in a way that maximizes human flourishing, raises people out of poverty, and increases the quality of life for everyone. It particularly focuses on impact through technology such as energy, transhumanism, and especially AI in the current moment, as AI is a meta-technology from which other technologies emerge and grow.

As such, the way you e/acc is promote optimism around technology and growth, contribute to the advancement of impact technologies, and collaborate with others doing the same.

In other words, allocate time and attention towards moving humanity forward and spread positive vibes.

𝗢𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀

-The Kardashev scale is a (hypothetical) measurement a civilization's level of technological advancement based on the amount of energy it is capable of using. Think of this as the key performance indicator for e/acc, as energy expenditure drives GDP, which correlates with quality of life.

-The world is too complex for top-down central planning, meaning that the best strategy for growth is machine-learning-style optimization to traverse the entire range of possible outcomes as thoroughly and efficiently as possible to achieve the best and most desired results. This means embracing embracing variance, risk, experimentation, and collective learning and growth.

-Collaboration and open source are emphasized to create an evolutionary swarm strategy.

-Growth and accelerationism is grounded in thermodynamics; the Fluctuation theorem of thermodynamics says that the structure of the universe tends towards systems that dissipate heat. Complex systems configure and reconfigure themselves to capture and dissipate more heat over their lifetime, indicating that the universe is biased toward growth and life.

-Accelerationism comes from Nick Land’s (and others’) ideas on capitalism as an autonomous, self-amplifying system of techno-economic evolution on the path towards AI singularity.

-There are other flavors of accerationsim, including some politically centered like left/acc and right/acc, and other variants focused on social concerns like gender, environmental impact, transhumanism, xenofeminism, and others.
