Portugal’s dressing room is fractured, and we all know the reason. Every football player dreams of winning a World Cup. Yet, you went on an interview to say the World Cup isn't your dream—just a matter of six or seven games—and that it shouldn't define your greatness. How do you expect your teammates to feel when you, as their captain, downplay the very thing they dream of? Let’s face reality: A true leader must be selfless. Believe it or not Ronaldo is not. Most of the time, he only cares about himself. Yes, he wants to win, and he has a winning mentality. He always wants to be on the scoresheet, he’s angry when he doesn’t score which isn't a bad thing, but age has caught up with him. He can’t play like he did 5 or 10 years ago, and his fans need to accept that. I hope he reaches 1,000 goals as soon as possible so he can hang up his boots. The disrespect he is receiving, especially from his teammates, might not be entirely deserved, but respect is earned. I rest my case.
