Israel is now burning and destroying water stations in Lebanon, just as it poisoned the water wells in Palestine, just as the United States bombed water reservoirs and desalination plants in Iran.
Water infrastructures are legally classified as protected civilian infrastructure under Article 54 of Additional Protocol I to the Geneva Conventions.
Destroying civilian infrastructures is not military necessity. This’s another war crime, yet the International Criminal Court and the UN High Commissioner for human rights remain silent!
Life is hard without a mother.'
This 11-year-old Palestinian girl has become the sole carer for her infant brother after their mother was killed in an Israeli attack in Gaza.
She deserves to be remembered.
Before the war, Daria "Blyskavka" Filipieva was a successful translator. But she felt her life had to mean more.
She underwent eye surgery so she could qualify for military service, became a combat medic, and went on to save hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers.
She once said:
"Every wounded person who passed through my hands survived."
On August 3, 2023, a russian anti-tank guided missile struck her evacuation vehicle on the Zaporizhzhia front.
The rest of the crew survived.
Daria did not.
Eternal memory to a true Heroine of Ukraine.
