This was some of the evidence left out of the Hockey Canada trial which would have corroborated some of EM’s testimony. Certainly more credible and reliable than Justice Carroccia thought, isn’t she?
Post 1/2
only one player in NHL history admitted to hearing a woman weeping while being assaulted, left her there, then later changed his story to cover up for his friends who assaulted her.
His name is Brett Howden.
@theenigma9900@BRHarvie@KristinRaworth Thank you for your engagement
Your replies show that you will justify absolutely everything the players said (or did not say)
Nothing is too incredulous for you
@theenigma9900@BRHarvie@KristinRaworth For example, the judge didn’t believe the hockey players concocted a narrative even though in the group chat they said things like:
We all need to say the same thing if we get interviewed
let’s not make her sound too crazy
If anything we should put allegations on her
@theenigma9900@BRHarvie@KristinRaworth Howden also "forgot" lots of things while testifying (18 inconsistencies) including sending his incriminating texts
The judge disagreed that he was feigning memory loss
@theenigma9900@BRHarvie@KristinRaworth "Cunningham said the reason why we don’t have any other information about the alleged slap in 2018 is because Dubé asked Howden not to mention it when Howden was set to be interviewed by Hockey Canada investigators"
https://t.co/jbPFLYBFtG
She didn't "flee." She was a woman who suffered 11 years of rape and violent abuse and then left a country that is set to release her rapist in 2 years. I hope she finds happiness and peace wherever she is.
@theenigma9900@BRHarvie@KristinRaworth “The Crown had also wanted to challenge Howden on his testimony regarding two phone calls, one with Dube and one with Foote, in which he said the players asked him not to bring them up in his interview with Hockey Canada investigators.”
https://t.co/B0lwKYL1MK
@theenigma9900@BRHarvie@KristinRaworth For example Howden texted "Man, when I was leaving, Duber was smacking this girl’s ass so hard. Like, it looked like it hurt so bad.”
The judge ruled that text was inadmissable
Dubé also told Howden not to tell the investigator about the slap
@theenigma9900@BRHarvie@KristinRaworth For example, Foote also called Steenbergen and told Steenbergen not to tell what Foote did because Foote would explain it himself
@theenigma9900@BRHarvie@KristinRaworth For example, Steenbergen saw Dubé slap E.M. on her buttocks but Dubé later called Steenbergen and told him "not to say what he did and that he was going to explain it himself" to Hockey Canada investigators
@theenigma9900@BRHarvie@KristinRaworth For example, Dubé admitted parts of his testimony were wrong and he *never mentioned* slapping E.M.’s buttocks. The judge says meh no biggie and anyway the slap was just “minor contact”
@theenigma9900@BRHarvie@KristinRaworth For example, McLeod lied to police in 2018 that he had “no idea” why the men showed up in his room and that it was a "complete mystery", even though he sent a group text (“Who wants a 3-way quick. 209-mikey”) and offered them "gummers"
@Polly01001011@Johanna_1254@Gail95926 Then I suggest you read the transcripts of his UK testimony for the Boston flight
My thread cites from *his testimony*
@BRHarvie@KristinRaworth I read it. She seemed to accept whatever the hockey players said and simply excused or ignored any discrepancies (my sense is her background as a criminal defence attorney clouded her judgement)
Meantime she honed in on (amplified?) any discrepancies wrt E.M.'s testimony
