A nice way to end the week - presenting Steve Dyson with his long service reward commemorating his 25 years with Radicon.
Steve has always been involved with our geared motor products. As a fitter, he has assembled thousands of units over the last 25 years.
In this video, we're looking at how we received, repaired and returned a H series gerabox, which had suffered a catastrophic failure due to a lack of lubrication from the external oil pump failure.
Despite everything that's going on at the moment, we're still busy, with lots of units coming in for repair.
Here we have a Renold PB60 from a steelworks, an agitator gearbox from a power station and a Radicon G series from a pharmaceutical company - all waiting to be stripped.
We've just added our latest case study to our website - detailing how we helped one of the UK's busiest ports. You can read it here: https://t.co/oYRBnrCiwK
Congratulations to Jim Warby, who, last week, celebrated 25 years with Radicon.
Jim received his cheque for £250 from Mark Cooper, General Manager, BR Operations and Supply Chain (right in the photo).
This Amarillo right-angle gear unit is just about to head back a North Sea oil rig where it will drive a fire pump. We performed a general bearing and seal change, we quoted a six-week turnaround, but it's only taken us four weeks to complete, so we have a very happy customer!
This gearbox is in for repair. It's been used by steel manufacturer, turning a paddle that pushes product onto a conveyor. We think a large rock jammed the system and damaged the case and gears! We're undertaking a full overhaul of the unit, returning it to OEM standard.
This gearbox is destined for a major quarrying company. It will grind down minerals into a fine medium for use in domestic and industrial materials and applications.
It is based on our G series unit but has strengthened components.

We've recently completed the installation of the fifth set of case hardened gears on the Brae Alpha platform in the North Sea, helping to significantly reduce downtime on the rig. You can read the full story on our website: https://t.co/STdA9zEf67

Giles Bloxwich, Service Manager at Radicon, thinks miners need to prepare for gearbox failures with an effective maintenance program that looks at oil changes, vibration analysis and gearbox cleanliness, among other things

Everyone at Radicon would like to wish all of our customers, suppliers and partners a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We've maintained our tradition of raising money for charity rather than sending Christmas Cards.
It's Christmas Jumper Day and here we are wearing our seasonal sweaters!
We've all made a donation to the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust and Sue has also baked some lovely cakes, which are being sold for £1.50, with all proceeds going to the same charity.
We're about to celebrate 10 years of providing drop-in replacement gearboxes. Keep an eye on our website for the press release which will be going out to mark a decade of the service.
A couple of weeks ago we published a short video with Michael talking about an order of gearboxes that we'd received from the Far East. Well, here's one of those units, which is now on its way to Laos!
