@BBGreatMoments How about catchers stop with all of the “Look, I’m a magician magically making the ball appear in the strike zone” mit movement theatrics? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@MikeMutnansky Do you think the excessive ejections would drop if Umps had to announce to the crowd why a player or manager is being ejected in a clearly articulable manner and cite the infringed rule causing the ejection?
@BBGreatMoments It took a few back-and-forth on the video, but @ 0:06 you can finally see the ball ( extremely faint dot ) coming down above the screen on the foul pole, is then hidden behind the screen and then appears from behind the screen to the left and into the trees… looked fair to me!
@KingSim77 The player you circled became the de facto goalkeeper when the goalkeeper moved up and out of the box and became a defender. The offside line became the Egyptian player's left heel, just below the goalkeeper, causing the Iranian player to be offside by the ball of his foot.
@ViralMindLive The Egyptian player you are highlighting is the de facto goalkeeper because the goalkeeper moved up to the top of and outside of the box becoming a defender.
@ViralMindLive Because the goalkeeper moved up to the top of their box, that player is no longer considered a defender and became the de facto goalkeeper ( IFAB Law 11 Offsides )
@hundredand1 Looking at the video timer, it appears it took the ump two seconds to call it a strike and the challenge was requested within two seconds of that call. How is a total of four seconds for two calls too long?
@ryanrevans@eTheurgy@RyanRozbiani IFAB Law 11 on offside states that players have to be in an onside position at the moment the ball is struck.
Look at the image grab provided ( again, me being pretend VAR ) showing that Iranian player about to strike the ball and player #4 in an offside position.
@Flyboy737800@camille_moscow According to IFAB Law 11 on offsides, the goalkeeper came out high of their box, making Egyptian player #9 the second-last defender and his heel is where the offside line would be drawn. As close as it was, Iranian player #4 is offside by the ball of his foot. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@eTheurgy@RyanRozbiani Looking at the image, I did my best as a pretend VAR, added the line and made sure it was parallel to the end line and goal keepers box. You can see the Iranian player #4 is offside by the ball of his foot.
