BUT WE ARE HERE TO VERIFY (free) ONE OF NORTH AMERICA’S LARGEST AND RAREST BIRDS IS MIGRATING THROUGH THE CENTRAL FLYWAY AND HAS LANDED IN OKLAHOMA.
I just heard from my parents. They had to drive up to Englewood to get cell service and power is out everywhere near them, but they are safe and their house and the houses in their area are intact. Flooding on their side of Rotonda is minimal.
@Erin88562268 Last update I had from someone on FB was that roads are somewhat drivable around Rotonda Circle and that damage wasn't life-threatening. Still haven't heard from my parents so I don't have much more info.
@MacRedacted Thanks for the suggestion! I entered their address but am still waiting to see a result. Looks like they have their work cut out for them.
But anyways, here's the poem.
Remember, remember
The Fifth of November
The Gunpowder Treason and plot.
I can think of no reason
The Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.
Every year I make a point to celebrate Guy Fawkes Day and watch V for Vendetta. Every year it gets more relevant in a new and disturbing way, but this year it's really outdone itself.
A bully on my swim team in middle school called me "Moses" once because I grew chest hair before the other boys. I was deeply hurt for years until I told someone about it in my 20s and realized what an absurd insult it actually was.
Once in 1995 a bully on my swim team said he only drank soda because “all water used to be pee and half that pee is from men so to drink water would be gay.” And it’s only just hitting me that my response should’ve been “AND IT’S NOT GAY TO SWIM IN IT, KURTIS??” Anyway, I’m 33.
