@Belastingdienst is it mandatory to have ziektekostenverzekering as a seasonal worker who works 3 months in the Netherlands on a Dutch contract and doesn’t even have an address registration during that time?

Hello, in 2025, I worked in the Netherlands for 5 months. During that period, I had 2 different jobs, but not at the same time.

I got sent my jaaropgaaf from the first job and on it I saw that “ziektekostenverzekering” is listed as 0

- Is it still possible that I could receive such a letter in 2026 or later in the future?
- If I’m working seasonally in the Netherlands for 3 months without having an address registration, is health insurance still mandatory?!

I never received any letters in 2025 telling me that I needed to start health insurance.

@Belastingdienst In 2024, I only worked in the Netherlands for 2 months. I remained a resident of my home country and was never registered in a Dutch municipality (BRP) during this period.
