Traditionally CEXs have two strong advantages over #dex

Throughput and latency.

This week I demonstrated that throughput will soon no longer be an advantage, after processing 9000 swaps/second on #cassie our research network paving the way to linear scalability for Xian.

Finality in these demonstrations was approximately 4 seconds. A CEX has latency in the sub second range, but this is only useful if you are a medium or high frequency trader.

For normal types of users, 4 seconds is generally acceptable, therefore the capability of throughput erodes the latency advantage also for most use cases.
