Dr. Reuben Ayivor-Djanie shares plenary on building low-cost, locally adaptable molecular diagnostics for Africa.
His team developed a frugal method to produce and stabilize enzymes for RT-LAMP tests — keeping them functional in regular fridges and enabling shipping across the continent.
Now adopted in labs in Senegal, Burkina Faso, and Nairobi, his work is a shining example of Africa-to-Africa science — practical, scalable, and driven by local needs.

Data on the percentage of budget spent on R&D reveal that countries that spend very little on research are the same countries with high external debt....
My interpretation of this is pretty basic....those who do not implement new ideas will borrow to survive on archaic ideas. Yea
