Today in #Budva, seven industrial parks and business zones from the #WesternBalkansSix signed MoUs with partners from the 🇪🇺, launching the new WB6–EU Industrial Parks Partnership facilitated by RCC.

From business matchmaking, supplier development and investment promotion to innovation, skills and greener industrial parks 👉🏻 the goal is to connect #WB6 companies more directly with European value chains, customers, investors and technology partners.

“Today, we make the introductions. Tomorrow, we build business links,” said RCC SG @amer_kap.

The initiative is part of the regional economic deliverables ahead of the 2026 #BerlinProcess Summit and contributes to the RCC-coordinated #CommonRegionalMarket Action Plan 2025–2028.

The region’s natural wealth is under growing pressure, with more than 500 species across #WesternBalkansSix already classified as vulnerable, endangered or critically Endangered.

But the WB6 Biodiversity Strategic Plan sets clear targets for 2030, moving from ambition to measurable action.

This week, we’re in Žabljak for the Third Ministerial Meeting on the #GreenAgenda for the Western Balkans bringing ministers and partners together on 18–19 September ⏭️ to take stock of progress and advance the regional priorities.

Because biodiversity loss is not abstract, it means losing species, habitats and natural wealth that may never be recovered.

Today in #Vienna, Prime Ministers’ Sherpas and representatives of the European Commission and regional organisations gathered at a meeting convened by RCC to review progress on the 2026 #BerlinProcess deliverables and coordinate the next steps ahead of the ministerial meetings and the Berlin Process Leaders’ Summit in October.

“Agreeing on new deliverables is necessary, but implementation remains the ultimate test of credibility. The success of the Berlin Process will not be measured by the number of commitments we make, but by our ability to translate them into practical and measurable benefits for citizens and businesses,” said RCC SG @amer_kap.

RCC and regional partners reviewed progress on their deliverables and agreed to maintain close coordination, with results to be finalised ahead of the upcoming ministerial meetings and Leaders’ Summit.

Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the South-East European Cooperation Process, at the meeting held under the Bulgarian Chairmanship-in-Office today in #Sofia endorsed the SEECP Summit Declaration, welcomed the RCC Annual Report and expressed support for RCC’s continued role in translating regional political ownership into coordination, continuity and delivery.

Addressing the meeting, RCC Secretary General @amer_kap said that 30 years of SEECP should be seen not only as an anniversary, but as a moment to adjust regional cooperation to a new strategic reality, adding: “Thirty years later, regional ownership has produced the Regional Cooperation Council as its most distinctive institutional product, with tangible results from SEE2030 and free roaming to green alignment and security cooperation. The task before us now is to make that ownership even more strategic, more focused and more useful to our citizens and markets,”

Today in #Sofia for the 18th RCC Annual Meeting, co-chaired with the Bulgarian Chairmanship-in-Office of the SEECP 👉🏻 where participants endorsed the RCC Annual Report, approved the SEE2030 Strategy Mid-Term Update and Mid-Term Implementation Report, and took note of our work and practical results for citizens and businesses across #SouthEastEurope.

Opening the meeting, RCC Secretary General @amer_kap said the past year confirmed the importance of regional cooperation as a strategic tool for addressing shared challenges and positioning the region in a rapidly changing global context, adding “Our focus now must be on implementation, results and investment; on regional initiatives that make cooperation visible and useful to citizens, businesses and institutions.”

It was a pleasure to hear RCC participants and partners acknowledge RCC’s work and dedication, including @MFABulgaria Minister, @vpetrova_mfa, who underlined that “RCC has consistently provided a regional backbone for cooperation, serving as a highly effective platform for dialogue and joint action” and @eu_enlargement_ Commissioner @MartaKosEU who said “Window of enlargement is open to those who deliver reforms, and the Common Regional Market is an important part of that process, helping the region prepare for deeper integration into the EU Single Market while improving people’s lives.

The meeting underscored the importance of sustained engagement and cooperation in addressing shared regional challenges and advancing common European aspirations.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on regional and European integration, the strengthening people-to-people contacts and economic ties across the region, and shared priorities within the broader European perspective of South East Europe.

We brought together partners from across the region and the EU for the Coordination Meeting of #WesternBalkans Regional Organisations to work on aligning priorities for next year at our #Brussels Liaison Office.

The meeting opened with remarks by RCC SG @amer_kap and Wojciech Kowalski, Advisor to the Director for Western Balkans at @eu_enlargement_, who underlined the importance of coherent regional action, measurable results, and strong links between the #CommonRegionalMarket, the #GreenAgenda, and the EU #GrowthPlan.

The meeting gathered representatives of RCC, @CEFTA_, @Ener_Community, @EUWB6_TCT, @ReSPA_EU, @RYCOwb, @wb6cif, @raiseeorg, @EU_Commission, the German Government, and the @VladaCG, as the 2026 Berlin Process Summit host.

In his address, SG emphasised that #RegionalCooperation remains the region’s strongest currency. He highlighted the RCC’s role in driving regional cooperation and concrete achievements through the #CommonRegionalMarket and the EU #GrowthPlan, and called for full implementation of the agreements committed under the Berlin Process so far. 

The meeting, held ahead of the Berlin Process Leaders’ Summit in London, reaffirmed the region’s joint commitment to trust, integration, and growth.
