New paper now available open access, exploring the barriers faced by women and gender-marginalised people entering small-scale organic and agroecological farming in the UK, and their efforts to make space for themselves and others: https://t.co/HdmiCT9DCD.... (image my own!)

I’m excited to share a new open access paper exploring how psychosocial methods can foster more connected, care-based, and imaginative research in problem-focused fields. Durrant, R. 2025. Re-enchanting the research encounter... J of Psychosocial Studies. https://t.co/c7fB8ogvI7
4. I also thoroughly enjoyed listening - it was an extremely informative piece, and it's great to hear about women's experiences of farming on such a widely accessed show. And I'll be following the new @CRPRExeter study into female farmers' health and wellbeing.
Congrats to all involved in the recent woman's hour special on women in farming for putting together such a balanced and well-informed piece. https://t.co/EZRFUChrwR
Follow this thread to read some of my reflections...
3. Although farming is awesome and many of us non-farming folk long for more connection and closeness to the land, the media and farming organisations need to be more honest - farming is an essentially closed occupation, as far as most of us are concerned.
@BBCWomansHour@itsanitarani Congrats to all involved for putting together such a balanced and well-informed piece. I have a few reflections to share:
1. I'm hugely in awe of contributor Sinead Fenton for speaking out so frankly... (see my feed for more!)
🚜 A three-year study into the health & wellbeing of female farmers has been announced by @UniofExeter.
As part of our women in farming special, @itsanitarani is joined by researcher Dr Rebecca Wheeler & a panel of farmers to discuss what impact this research could have 🐄 ⬇️
I'm running a workshop at @ORFC in Jan. The session – ‘Graphic Journaling and Map Making to Explore Your Farming Journey’ – is on Friday 10th from 2.00-3.30pm in the Link Room (Story Museum).
Thanks to @Ottilie21 for inspiring me to do this!

Back in October I gave a talk at a fantastic @AABiologists / @LandworkersUK conference - 'Cultivating Wisdom' - in Manchester.

I'm feeling very moved by reporting on the strike action that's sweeping the country this spring. Why? Because I really don't want to strike and I hate the feeling of instability. But I'm going to strike anyway, in solidarity with all who work in public service. #ucuRISING
The transition to #agroecology is inhibited by the cultural and legal norms of our ‘ownership model’ of property. Land reform could expand agroecology, it’s a radical and practical idea… give it a go? https://t.co/bt8zQe76Rd
@adamjcalo @drkirsteen @AlastairIles What can those working towards agroecological transitions outside of Scotland take away from this paper? Specifics please.
@suepritch Wow, this job is going to be so much fun for the lucky person who fits the bill. If I wasn't enjoying my own job so much then I'd be penning my application right away.
Write to your MP & ask that they support an amendment to the Levelling up & Regeneration Bill to class childcare as infrastructure. This would allow local authorities to use infrastructure levy funds for childcare &would increase provision https://t.co/cQpvWJ6Mwl @pregnantscrewed
