100% agree. I've never understood why being remembered is treated as the benchmark of a meaningful life. Some of the ppl who've had the greatest impact on others are unknown to history; they lived in service rather than in pursuit of recognition. Impact & legacy are not the same.

I’m not convinced legacy is as important as people make it out to be. Sometimes it feels less like contribution and more like the ego trying to live forever. If nobody remembered any of us 200 years from now, would our lives have meant any less?

Respect the craft, not the pedestal. Inspiration is beautiful, but idolisation is where it becomes dangerous. We’re all human, not ideals. Expecting someone to align with your values just because you think they should is wild.

Ppl get outraged, offended and saddened by celebrities words and actions but the root of that is idol worship. You’re the one that put them on pedestal to begin with and allow them the opportunities to disappoint you and dissolve the manufactured image you created of them.
