Ibn Kathir رحمه الله says in his Tafseer:
"One of the characteristics of dunya is that it escapes from the one who chases it, and it chases the one who escapes from it."

“Yusuf bin Isbaat (rahimahullaah) was asked:
“What is the height of humility?”
He said: ”You do not meet anyone except that you consider him more virtuous than yourself.””

Ibn Al-Qayyim (رحمة الله عليه) said:
When Allaah wills good for His servant He removes admiration of his good deeds from his heart, and removes the speaking abt it from his tongue, and keeps him occupied in being mindfulof his own sins and trying to reduce them

"Take up good deeds only as much as you are able, for the best deeds are those done regularly even if they are few."

"Certainly, Allaah forgives major sins, so do not despair and indeed Allaah punishes for minor sins, so do not be deceived."

“When one’s intention is sincere, Allaah will suffice his needs, protect him, and guide him in his dealings with the people.”
Umar ibn Al-Khattab رضي الله عنه
"Allaah is independent of us, we are dependent on Him. He doesn’t need you or your worship, you need Him. Recognise your neediness and it will transform your approach to worship."

Great reward comes with great trials. When Allaah loves a people, He tests them, and whoever accepts it attains His pleasure, whereas whoever shows discontent with it incurs His wrath.
