Cougs, please allow me to get on my soapbox for one sec.

In 2022, a group of passionate alumni formed the Cougar Collective. We had no idea what we were doing, but we knew we had to do something to support @WSUCougars student-athletes.

We spent hundreds, if not thousands of VOLUNTEER hours trying to get this thing off the ground. We did everything in our power to spread the message, but at the end of the 2022 season, we lost student-athletes to the transfer portal (where many made $$$).

Last year was different. Last year, Cougs everywhere took the biggest shot we could ever possibly take. WE WERE COUNTED OUT. But along with our @BeaverAthletics brothers and sisters, we did what Cougs always do. WE FOUGHT BACK. Against ALL odds, Cougs everywhere began believing. Cougs joined the #1890Club. We grew from 200 members, to 1,000 members, to almost 2,000 members today.

But still, our NIL budget is DWARFED by schools like UW and TTU. But what did @CoachDickert and his staff do? THEY KEPT COUGS IN PULLMAN.

They kept them and the players believed they could make a difference. The Coaches believed they could make a difference.

So, as I listened to @MurrowCollege alum, @ChrisKingSports call @KyleThornton52's legendary stuff at the goal line, I cried.

I cried because you, Coug Nation, believed. I cried because the thousands of hours we spent trying to support these young men and women mattered. I cried because I know how much it means to everyone who was (and is) impacted by the death of the old @pac12. I cried because it meant more to @WSUCougarFB than it did to the Huskies.

It meant more because @WSUCougarFB believes. Now, more than ever, you should too.

Let's go 1-0 next week.
