There are three energy chokepoints, Russia, Hormuz, and Bab el-Mandeb Strait. I believe the current oil price is not taking into account a prolonged Geopolitical conflict. If history is a guide, most Middle East conflicts took years to resolve.
Oil appears to be bouncing of a support. Next and critical level of support is in the high 50’s to low 60’s. We could see a nice bounce from here and if the Middle East/Russia conflict escalates this bounce could turn into a trend…. Which judging by how things are going could be the case.
