The Election Commission of India is under fire like never before.
The SIR has struck 13 crore names off draft rolls, putting the EC at the centre of intense public debate over its role in deciding who gets to vote — and who doesn’t.
HOWEVER, what nobody knew: through that same period, some of the sharpest questions were being asked from inside.
Out today, after months of work. Our #ExpressInvestigation 🧵

This war is asymmetrical.
On one side you have people like:
Dr. Ali Larijani (Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran) author of three essays on Immanuel Kant, his writings are studied in Western universities:
• The Mathematical Method in Kant’s Philosophy
• Metaphysics and the Exact Sciences in Kant’s Philosophy
• Intuition and the Synthetic A Priori Judgments in Kant’s Philosophy
And:
Dr. Abbas Araghchi (Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran) PhD from the University of Kent.
His doctoral thesis:
“The Evolution of the Concept of Political Participation in Twentieth-Century Islamic Political Thought.”
And on the other side?
Donald Trump.
A man whose vocabulary barely exceeds 200 words.
Most famous quote:
“Grab ’em by the pussy.”
The Supreme Court has tightened the noose on disenfranchisement in the name of SIR, further strengthening its earlier order.
1. Aadhar to be accepted as stand alone document for claims of inclusion by 65 lakh excluded persons.
2. BLO’s categorisation of electors as “Recommended/not recommended” nullified
3. Every voter to get acknowledgment for documents submitted.
4. Aggrieved persons can now file online application
5. Political parties to assist people in filing claims

“It is true, I did let Subhas down. I did it because I had realised that...Gandhi was India. Anything which weakened Gandhi, weakened India. So I subordinated myself to Gandhi, although I was in agreement with what Subhas was trying to do.” — Nehru’s interview to Taya Zinkin

The move which was a shock for the British Empire, that Indians are going to take it, at any cost, that this man can go to any extent for his motherland and soon the Britishers realised that they have to evacuate as the people are awakened.
“The title of Supreme Commander, if it truly fitted any commander on the battlefields of Europe or Asia, fitted Netaji most superbly. He looked supreme, every inch of him.”
— S.A Iyer, INA.
I have defended India’s electoral process for decades, telling the world to learn from our Election Commission. But the evidence presented by @RahulGandhi changes the picture — in just one assembly constituency in Karnataka, 100,000 bogus votes; 15–20% of the voter list wrong.
Any credible Election Commission would investigate, fix the list, and punish the guilty. Instead, it is threatening the Leader of the Opposition. In Maharashtra, this happened quietly; in Bihar, it’s a daylight robbery.
The nation deserves an answer. And history will remember this.
