As a part of the Government’s 100-day programme, Government e Marketplace has introduced a significant reduction in the transaction charges levied on Sellers / Service Providers on the portal!
This strategic step has been rolled out on 9th August, 2024 and is likely to greatly benefit the MSEs who are the backbone of the seller base of GeM.
Here’s what you need to know:
1️⃣ Zero transaction charges for all order valued up to ₹10 lakh (earlier limit was ₹5 lakh)
2️⃣ 0.30% of order value as transaction charges for all orders valued above ₹10 lakh up to ₹10 crore (reduced from 0.45% of order value)
3️⃣ Transaction charges capped at maximum ₹3 lakh for all orders valued above ₹10 crore (earlier capping was at ₹72.5 lakh)
This transformative change is envisioned to enhance ease of doing business on the platform, empowering small-scale sellers and service providers to effortlessly participate and secure government tenders.
Driven to fostering #Efficiency, #Transparency and #Inclusivity, GeM is bringing a paradigm shift to India’s public procurement domain.

Yesterday the U.S.-India Business Council co-hosted a roundtable in New Delhi with @SBAIsabel, the Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (@SBAgov) and member of President Biden’s Cabinet.
Administrator Guzman was in New Delhi to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the United States and India on supporting micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The MoU launches a key initiative agreed to by Prime Minister Modi and President Biden during the prime minister’s state visit to Washington, DC, in June 2023, which was highlighted in the two countries’ Joint Statement.
During the roundtable, USIBC members had the opportunity to share their views on key ways the two countries could assist #MSME growth in bilateral trade under the MoU, including through capacity building, innovative financing, matchmaking and targeted support for women-owned enterprises.
With 34 million small businesses in the United States, and 63 million small business in India, MSMEs are significant contributors to inclusive and sustainable economic growth and formal sector job creation in both markets. They are major sources of demand for the goods and services of large companies and suppliers to these businesses.
USIBC appreciated the partnership and support of both the @USCSIndia and the @FollowCII in producing this event.
