As unnoticed as the cold, or the sight of her breath fog, or the frozenness of her fingers and toes.

The child within her was soon to come.

The rotten interior of this frozen shack would be its first sight.

Her effort was louder now.

He was useless to her as this anonymous life fought its way through her belly.

All he could do was be a hand to hold, and wait for this new thing to introduce itself.

The clawing at the door had grown.

The beasts would soon be upon them.
