Exercise #MAITREE 2026

The Indian Army contingent departed for Thailand to participate in the 15th edition of the India-Thailand Joint Military Exercise #MAITREE 2026. Exercise #MAITREE will be conducted from 18-31 August 2026 at Vibhavadi Rangsit Camp, Surat Thani. The exercise will involve company-level joint training focused on operations in jungle and semi-urban terrain.

Exercise MAITREE aims to enhance the combined capabilities of the two Armies in conducting joint counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism operations under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter. The exercise will facilitate the exchange of operational experiences and showcase contemporary equipment and technologies, further strengthening interoperability, mutual understanding and camaraderie between the two Armies.

Initiated in 2006, MAITREE remains an important platform for strengthening the longstanding defence ties between India and Thailand.

At Phek, #Nagaland, Agniveer aspirants are undergoing structured physical training to enhance fitness, endurance and overall recruitment preparedness. At Chandel, #Manipur a two-month training programme for shortlisted candidates is preparing them for Agniveer and Territorial Army recruitment rallies. These initiatives reaffirm #AssamRifles’ commitment to empowering youth, unlocking opportunities and inspiring them to serve the nation through the Armed Forces.

#SpearCorps के अंतर्गत #AssamRifles द्वारा #Nagaland एवं #Manipur में युवाओं की आकांक्षाओं को अवसरों में बदलने हेतु पूर्व-भर्ती प्रशिक्षण संचालित किया जा रहा है। #Nagaland के Phek में अग्निवीर अभ्यर्थियों को शारीरिक प्रशिक्षण के माध्यम से फिटनेस, सहनशक्ति एवं भर्ती प्रक्रिया के लिए आवश्यक तैयारी को सुदृढ़ किया जा रहा है। #Manipur के Chandel में चयनित अभ्यर्थियों के लिए दो माह का प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम संचालित किया जा रहा है, जिसके माध्यम से उन्हें अग्निवीर एवं Territorial Army रैलियों के लिए तैयार किया जा रहा है। ये पहल युवाओं को सशक्त बनाने, नए अवसर प्रदान करने तथा सशस्त्र बलों के माध्यम से राष्ट्र सेवा के लिए प्रेरित करने की #AssamRifles की प्रतिबद्धता को दर्शाती हैं।
